Quentin seems to be an expert: is there value to leaving gaps in done rounds to catch errors that cause your actions to move back a round. This can cascade out of control and we think we can use intentional gaps sort of like fire breaks

Yeah, in the basegame you, literally, don't have the token to show two threats in the same turn - so pretty big mistake here by the comms officer :)

Just from watching the first game, I do think that Quinn shouldn't have played as a "table captain" - instead, should have deferred decisions to "Captain Kylie". Space Alert is amazing, but is tough enough to get people into - without a table captain looking at people's cards and telling them exactly what to play....

It is my #1 favourite game, no joke. Also greatly helped out by its very affordable expansion. It adds character sheets and achievements! According to my sheet I think I've played it close to 100 times now?

Hm, not a huge fan of the distorted robot voice, it's distorted enough that it's hard to understand and I feel like the time-crunch and information overload is difficulty enough for the game. Don't need to add a contrived robot voice that makes everything hard to understand.

I just bought the game in dutch. The cards are printed dutch and the CD's are in dutch too (missie cd and opleidings cd). It can be nice to have the game in your native language due to real time gameplay, but english works just as well. That asteroid should have arrived in T+3 which I guess is what the Twitch chat was trying to point out. Bad comms officering by Quins. If you're using a decent app the alerts are written on the screen so you can check them during the resolution phase.

Other rules mistakes: When Matt was staring into the Fissure, his C-actions should have just damaged the Fissure, not launched him - it's only if he'd been launched before the Fissure opened, that he could have used bot actions to stay out and close the Fissure that way. He'd have needed a third C to launch, and then bots would have let him stay out. Looking out the window, it's not each time anyone looks out the window; it's how many people look out the window at once (highest scoring turn per phase counts) - so if everyone looks out the window on the same round, that's a lot of points; if people look out the window on different rounds, then that's just 1 point (per phase). Unless you house rule it to be friendlier, of course. Delays only cascade through until you hit a gap in your plan - which means it's sometimes worth leaving gaps just so if anything does delay you, you don't mess up the timing for anything beyond that. Also, while it's a bit nitpicky, and fine to house-rule, while communications are down, you shouldn't communicate in any way - in particular, pointing at the board and moving bits around are disallowed, not just having to stop talking.

You might be referring to the communications disruption in which they're not allowed to talk. That noise--while annoying--is supposed to be there.

That plant behind Matt seems to be too close. It seems to jab him pretty often during a stressful game. I know, it's a weird thing to notice but I couldn't stop seeing it. Great stream though I enjoyed it greatly.
