After veiwing several of these toons you can see where Roddenberry may have gotten some ideas from. Cmd. Scott. Uhura. Voyager probe episode. And even Space Ghost. For 1962 they are really pretty good.

You said you wanted to be a kid in 1960s while watching this on DVD and that's just impossible since you can't go back in time or reverse your age and even if you could somehow, you wouldn't have been able to watch a DVD in the decade that was the 1960s. What you can do is watch a DVD now and pretend that you are childish.

12:52- I remember this specific scene from my childhood after school viewing. The entire 24 min show was divided up into 5 parts, 1 segment per each weekday on a show called 'Mr. Cartoon'.
