I'm back! Also, if you're a member with early access - i'm updating many of the blueprints as this is buffering. For all of you who provided feedback and suggestions for the blueprints: Thank you so much!!

Glad you're back, I prefer your well considered approaches to logistics games. For this update I've seen about everything new except the 5 new unique items that can only be gathered as drops from fog forces on the ground. I've seen, discussed and even suggested a few ways to possibly maximize items dropped from such mob, but wonder what your solutions would be for the two farm types: an everything farm, and a unique only farm. I expect the only differences between the two will be the belting, filtering, and/or sorting from the BAB's into the network but will keep an eye out for variations. What I've noted thus far about fog farming is a follows: 1. Items dropped vary every 3 base levels up to level 24. The unique items start at level 12( and I suspect add a new item every 3 levels after until level 24). 2. Avoid attacking the base relay and central base building. If you can let the outer buildings grow then the fog spawn quantity and types will improve, thus improving the potential drop rates. 3. The central base area tends to be safe for the fog mobs so leading them outward immediately after they spawn minimize time to death, which also maximizes potential item drop rate. 4. While any weapon could work for the actual killing of the fog, energy weapons would maximize returns as they wouldn't need resources for ammo. 5. The BAB's will hit an output limit in later levels if not using all 9 ports, and maybe a large depot and DLS atop too. 6. The BAB's and signal towers can tank the enemy fire better than most weapons, but even laying "useless" belts all around the empty area of the base work well to pull the fog outward to attack right from spawn. I presume 6 signal towers arranged radially from the base center will work well to pull the mobs outward, presuming you can keep the range such that you are careful how close to the base you place the signal towers. However this may not be a viable solution if you have missile launchers anywhere on the planet. I figure making a blueprint based off a fully built up level 24+ base would allow one to ensure the ranges of the weapons hit were they need to and garbage belting can be used in the blank areas to pull the fog out to be farmed. Primarily, I'm not actually sure of all the advantages of using the items made from the unique fog drops and if it is worth it for most gamers. I believe the Mk III assemblers and smelters, which need unique fog drops to be created, are each 8x faster than the Mk II, but I await your judgement on the pros and cons of them.

I haven't fully tested this yet, but I don't think farming the fog is something the typical gamer should/would do. It's a lot of work, not without risk, for something that's not essentially different from just building your own factory.@@sawyeriii

Yeah for a first update with combat I thing the dark fog is a great introduction and there is plenty of changes that can be made to it to make it better but for a long awaited update I'd call it a success.

Another interesting video. How did you get so much Metadata? Also, this is a summary episode. Do you have the longer playthrough? Thanks again.
@TheDutchActuary11 ай бұрын
I've done quite a few playthroughs (each one getting meta data) but never really use it, so it stacks up :P
@dukecunning704611 ай бұрын
@@TheDutchActuary Thanks for the quick response. I assumed that content creators do a lot of playthroughs. I don't plan on using my metadata, either; but, I would like to have 2000 or so metadata. I only have like 500 of each. Guess I need to play more. 🙂
@TheDutchActuary11 ай бұрын
If you want a lot of meta data, the endgame is where you want to be. Metadata is produced by your science production rate (not the amount itself, but the most you made in a minute during that playthrough). Stock up a lot of materials, get a few hundred matrix labs ready, and unleash the stockpile..... profit!@@dukecunning7046

so watching another stream if you remove them access to all planets in a system and they they have no foothold you can starve them out with matter, get them to attack reduce their numbers and the take out the hive

I'm starting to wonder if there is a endgame with the dark fog. Like, do you completely wipe them out or are they there to be intentionally levelled up and farmed for materials for the advanced "hidden tech" goodies you can build with what they drop. The hidden tech honestly is the only reason i have combat enabled in my current playthrough.
@TheDutchActuary Жыл бұрын
Honestly if the materials is what you're after, farming them is definitely a viable tactic it seems. Feels a bit weird to me, but hey, it works!

i cant destroy space hive?
@sawyeriii Жыл бұрын
You can, but it can vary in difficulty based on your fleet, squadron, energy weapon, engine, upgrades and tech. You can also pull the hive fleets away from their turrets and take out more of the ships faster by flying in range, deploying the fleet and then warping a short bit away. If close enough to a planet you can park on the ground under power towers getting your fleets restocked as you replenish the fleets in space attacking the hive fleet. After the fleet is gone, approaching from 1 side of the hive slowly will let the fleets take out the turrets without being in range of multiples at the same time. Once the hive and every relay in the system is gone, the hive threat meter goes away, but any bases on a planet will still be around( good for fog farmers).
@CrispyMuffin2 Жыл бұрын
You can, but its gonna be HARD, especially if you're not prepared. I've got corvettes unlocked and every available combat upgrade for purple science, but i still got steamrolled when i approached the hive I think thats what the Destroyers are best for

Nice video, ive quitted the game for a strong reason: they delete my save file without any warning ( the save file ive playing along your masterclass) into that savefile i had 190+ hours into and its all gone bcs of the update, If they would gave the warning and said you cannot expriences the new content with a old savefile (i wouldve consideren starting over) but they didnt do that, the game is fun and all but i wont recommend to anyone that wanted to keep a savefile and dont be scared of devs deleting they stuff without asking if steam hada option to refund a game over 190+ hours i would refunded it 100% With that all i will watch the these episoden gonna be fun and see how it is and see if its worth to even touch the game again.
