Your content is as impressive as the Space Dweller. If you ever do a book on the Explorer, I will commit to buying a copy. I could spend an entire day reading about the Explorer.

Wow. Truly amazing collection, and thanks for the esoteric history lesson Re:Space Dweller. Your pieces are top notch, rare and in great condition. I really enjoy the commentary. So many vintage Rolex collectors covet their hoard so jealously, they come off snobbish and “put upon” to ever have to share their collections with us common folk. None of that bullshit here, kudos.

Thank you- I really appreciate that! I aim to just share back some of the knowledge that this great watch community has shared with me- always more to learn.

How do you have these watches? The Space-Dweller, that is worth in 2022 I have no idea, at least $150,000. At least. I've never seen one on KZbin that I even remember unless it was some auction. That's insane, this is the best 1016 collection I've ever seen.

Hodinkee spotted one back in 2016 listed by a dealer for $85,000. Antiquorum sold an example back in 2008 (2008!) for $48,000. Sotheby’s sold a few “Space-Dweller

@@PixelWelding Wow thats still a lot but not as bad as I thought. Yeah this is one of those times where I think I know this hobby and then someone shows up with not just one uber-rare watch but three.

I love how on a vintage Rolex folded bracelet is nice, with a nice tinny sounding clasp. But on a a 100$ Seiko the same thing suddenly becomes "cheap" and not so nice.

There' good evidence to suggest that no Rolex was used by the Hunt expedition of 1953, that first climbed Everest. The watches worn were Smiths, and Rolexes were gifted to the climbers in Calcutta, India after the expedition.
