Don't forget that the 12 MW from the battery is not the stored power but the maximum MW it can run machines with. The stored power is just 3 MWh. So for all the stuff you have you should be able to run it for roughly an hour, if everything is running all the time. Maybe factor that in that not all your machines will run 24/7, if you do not plan to have a constant input of ores and constant output of components. Depends on your plans. You should have cobalt, the metal grids in your containers and the assembler need it. Maybe you can grind down stuff like that and disassamble some parts for the cobalt that is in there. It depends on how much you need the gravity right now. Great episode, always good to see people with a passion for SE.

The smart rotor looks great, I've been using a script but it's been inconsistent lately. You're already set up here, but something to try is planting your space station above the North pole. As long as I can rotate my solar tower correctly I can guarantee 24/7 sunlight for free power and only use batteries for burst usage.

IMPECCABLE TIMING!!! YOU HAD JUST said how much power you were going to need and your AI girl was kind enough to do the calculations for you to let you know you didn't have enough energy! [HOP HOP HOP!] Some days, you just can't make these things up! [giggle] 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Only a minute or so in but hopefully you realise you can make everything from the basic assembler you would need. Even as a player of many years I recently found out about a yt chan splitsie. I recommend a watch of his space engineers "learning to survive" series because he taught me a few things I didnt even know and also somethings I actually forgot! Really in depth review of the system and yeah you can build on from his descriptions to be even better. But keep up the videos I enjoy them 👍

TECHINCALLY... IN THE VACUUM OF SPACE... Your solar panels will be getting A WHOLE LOT MORE SUNLIGHT. Therefore... Its highly possible that the solar power your panels are getting in space is MUCH MORE than you will get from them on the planet BECAUSE OF the amount of light filtering and absorption by the atmosphere and clouds. Just thought I should put that out there as one who has spent a lot of their lives doing renewable energy research.

I HAVE TO ASK NOW... EXACTLY WHY one even NEEDS gravity? Is this because the game will penalize your health if you go in zero G for a long period of time? I only ask because, since it is a game, and the game is already grossly violating a whole ton of real world rules, is it employing human health rules based on gravity at this point?

Every ore deposit/asteroid has 3 ores, valuable ores are usually clustered together and way deeper than common metals. Uran is also the same color as silicon.

There are asteroids with uranium, it’s just really hard to find. I eventually got an ore detector mod to up the range of my ore detectors because I felt the range on the normal ones are too small in scan range

@@addylenwest8536 in real life it does but in the SE unviverse the sun revolves around you i know its odd but blame it on SE creators
@hunnybunnysheavymetalmusic65422 жыл бұрын
Saves on total mass resources. If you have the planets all revolving around the sun, not only do you need a whole lot more space to calculate, but then you get into KSP level geophysics and astrophysics because then everything has to gravometrically work for and against each other AND it is no longer a tiny, neat little box of space, its all spread out and one moment you are close to another location, but later on you will be a long way from it. This makes the game much smaller and more compact. Saves GIGATONS on computer resources! Unrealistic? Yeah... But its a game and the planet is hardly the size of a grapefruit anyhow, so what does one expect? I have plans for a game on the most farthest, insanest opposite end of this, but I'm really never likely to make it ever happen...
