It would be really useful if we could create Folders within the Blueprints menu, in order to organize not just our ship blueprints but these modular components as well.

I hope we can organize modules under the blue print they are associated with. If not, maybe a modder can.

I second this; putting different fleets or ship styles together would be much easier. Imagine having a Corvette folder or a [Insert Fleet Name Here] Folder.

Kind of like from the depths, organization in that game is pretty neat since you can organize your files into folders

Not sure if this is something everybody already knows about anyway but this is something you can do in the current space engineers already. You just have to go to your blueprint folder outside of the game to create the folders but you can navigate them in game well enough.

I think the likely unexpected result of this we are missing is with all these tools speeding up building will mean we will have much better and much more complex builds available in the workshop, along with modules that you can import and build with. Players only have a set amount of time they can play, and speeding up how quickly we can build things means the players with hundreds of hours a month to spare will be able to build some pretty incredible shit if they can build in a couple dozen hours what mightve taken a hundred in Space Engineers 1. Like imagine being able to import a library of small complex parts like hinges and hydraulic systrms you can use to build your stuff

Funny enough, I got a sleeper ship planned out that its lore would be it was made by a colony from a system who got ahold of the information of the Bering Project and made their own competing ship. This would make building that ship so much easier.

ngl it looks really hard positioning those modules, especially for large ships on the 25cm system. Would be nice if we can toggle between snapping to 25cm, 50cm and 250cm. Also seems like builds with centers that are holes (eg corridors) will be hard to paste over because there's no solid block to attach to, so a anchor + nudging ability will be nice.

@markmccorkle25
@markmccorkle25 14 күн бұрын
The problems I had with my modular ship parts were: 1) aligning the modules to snap to the main body was always a PITA (this may be fixed with SE2) 2) once you paste them on, if it was slightly mis-aligned -- there was no easy way to undo (I hear this is fixed in SE2) 3) You have to design modules which logically "mirror" properly. Think about it -- if your nacel has an interior with a particular up/down/front/back design, if you just rotate the nacel 180 degrees to snap it on the opposite side of your ship, everything is going to be upside down or backwards on the second nacel.
