Space Engineers - Diamond Dome Missile Defense - Full Scale Assault (Vanilla - Fully Automatic)

Behold, Diamond Dome Missile Defense System (Vanilla - Fully Automatic).
This is a Full Scale Assault with 12 incoming guided missiles and 3 fighter jets.
AI Turrets in the field (2km away from main base) detects and sends back target information via inter-grid communications, then base proceeds to lock-on to the targets via raycast camera arrays.
Missiles are automatically launched to intercept all the valid targets, without any human intervention.
Quite suprisingly, this works perfectly as dreamed.

@@bensalvador113 we've had a few back in the day, even without scripts The first meta shift was when people realized you could fit 25 small grid gatling guns into the space of 1 large grid block, so they made subgrid center fire weapons with 120+ gatling guns and just shredded anything they could keep in front of them. Still not patched but methods of counter have been developed.

Yeah it’s too bad this script doesn’t really work in more recent versions, but there is still a large arms race happening with different strategies and piston jolts and player made missiles.

Holly molly! One missile per target with 100% hit rate! Does it also works as a land to land defense system, as in hitting closing attack rovers, tanks and/or any sort of mobile infantry or siege machinery?

Raymond Blair have read through the thread, and conclusion is that the target aquisition method used by this system to identify targets is considered a fatal bug. it will be fixed soon, so no point uploading (this is Keen's decision)

There needs to be a auto fire support script now. This solves the multiplayer cancer players problem if you hook it up to missile printers.

Unfortunately Keen has confirmed the armor wrapping turrets trick used by this system's detection is considered an exploit. We see to it after the update fixes this. Gotta think of other ways to aquire targets.

Hmm. Well, some countermeasures... Decoy weapons. EWar. Cluster strikes that splash on proximity alarms, firing a spread of explosives at the target. or just *fast*

can you possibly test this with an assault from orbit? i want to get a sense of the range the defense has. along with accuracy against unguided targets (artillery strike perhaps)

hi, i have a problem that the missile wont fire at targets beyond 800 meters range, in fact, there isn't even a target lock on the ProgramBlock interface area. i know about the custom configuration settings, but those doesnt seem to be working.

Just can't stand how much stutter there is in this game. It's borderline unplayable for me. Game just never lived up to its potential for me. It's awesome, don't get me wrong. But there's still SO many things the game really needs, like this, like weapons other than gatlings and short range missiles etc.
