Space Engineers - No Deviations (Hard Survival)

It's return trip time - can we make it back to Pertam in a straight line that we can run a laser antenna along or will we have to deviate from our path?
We are playing Space Engineers with a bunch of hard mode settings. So this is a no jetpack survival play through with permadeath on, auto heal off, and a whole load of mods and settings that were made to make the game super hard.

Hi Psy! Knowing I would have to keep myself entertained on a very long journey when I first left the Earthlike, I built the interior of my ship with some room for anything I could fidget with later. Small grid stuff, containers, a little coffee table beside the couch, a TV hanging from a Hinge with my favorite pics, the entertainment center, you name it. Lots of stuff to look at, sort,... I do like using a food mod called "eat, drink, sleep, repeat" (I think). It's very simple and doesn't get on my nerves like other food mods. But it adds the cooking option, so there is even more stuff to sort, take care of, and so on. Also I use the datapads as a diary. It's so cool to read back! I also write down all sorts of geometry, mathematics, physics, calculations, rotor/hinge/piston settings for certain grids, colour settings for blocks/lights, etc. that I happen to figure out along the way. So I'm actually really happy about the book shelf block, too. (I left Earthlike about 1-1.5 years ago. haven't been back since... still love my ship) Take care, have fun!

I got a mention in a video, wooohooo!!!! Great work Psy! I've never used laser antenna before, I'm excited to how you implement them into a relay. It would be cool if you put a camera on the antenna drones so you can see the shipments as they zoom by. Keep up the good work watching out for those sneaky asteroids.

might be worth investing in some powerkits from 1 of the npc stations to avoid those almost dead moments, not something you want to rely on but a VERY good fallback option. looking forward to seeing how the laser antenna system works as its literally the only block i've never used (other than decoratively cause the small grid version looks really good as the center of a joint) great episode as always, looking forward to the next

Question 1: What is your favourite biscuit? Question 2: If a Chocolate Hobnob isn't in the top 5 - who hurt you? I ask that question everywhere I go 😆 Question 3: What sort of bike are you going to get? I like the classic bikes (Air/Oil cooled with carbs and round headlights) 1989 GSXR750 is 'chefs kiss' (I have the white ed\black (L model) one and an older red/black (J Model - Import). Probably not the best for commuting - great summer bikes though. Doing these long journeys, I feel it really opens up Space Engineers with a legit purpose - where normally everything seems kinda squidged together. I typically make an asteroid base on a rock with ice, then have mobile refineries on other rocks for the various ores - I pretty much 'live' in a 30km bubble. I use the Ai vs Ai vs Player 'Civil War' mod and MES with AIenabled so I spend most of time fixing all the things damaged by attacks and salvaging wrecks 😆 I do like the idea of AI drones for shipments, never tried that - I will be keen to see how all that jazz works! Looking forwards to the next one chap - superb stuff 👍

can confirm chocolate hobnobs are always a top 5 biscuit, maybe even #1 depending on the mood

Laser antennas use a huge amount of power though, each consumes 2MW at 200km, and then it increases exponentially after that plus every relay needs two antennas. If you had a straight shot between those two locations 4050 km the antennas on both ends would use 411MW each. Going too need a LOT of solar panels on those drones.
