We've got a painting mod and it’s time to add some aesthetic touches to the base.
We're playing Space Engineers with Jet pack and Auto Heal turned off, and no 3rd person view. We're using daily needs survival kit...on Pertam.

Strangely enough i not sure, the ai and remote blocks bug out a lot on Xbox, I think your gonna have to drop them from orbit , line them up and use mass blocks to drop them with gravity assist.

Mass blocks might not be necessary. Some heavy armour will get the mass up and protect any payload, while a single gyro and thruster can align and push the payload into the gravity well. I have some additional thoughts which I'll discuss in the next episode.

I'm blown away! 🤯 Great job on the decorating, that is top notch! I love your approach to this game and I can tell you are very immersed. I think with this specific hardcore game mode helps with that. Even though you give the engine a hard time I think they did a good job developing it. I'm hoping that SE2 will be even better with they new engine and water... The camera setup at the end is brilliant, amazing job! It'll be fun to watch Jules make their way to the center.

Thank you! I do love feedback like this. And you’re right - Keen did a stellar job on this game engine, and I do keep in mind that it’s built on a 10+ year old core. Gotta hand it to the modders though - they’ve done amazing things with the engine. Really looking forward to SE2 aswell. I’ll be all over that!

Love the colors and all the lights,the decorations, the base looks really good. Now iv never played the game iv only watched alot of videos, that being said have you ever heard of the Rods from God concept? Maybe put a Satellite like platform in orbit,and transport the Missiles (I don't know how big the missiles will be) to the satellite an control it from the base. Just a idea lol probably a Reason it can't be done, whatever way you figure out how to do it will be a great episode.

Thanks! Rods from God - yes I've heard of it and it did cross my mind. There's no technical reason not to be able to do this. I'd be a little concerned that it might not destroy the bases enough to disable them - especially the ones that have some underground components. Rods with warheads though... could work. Construction would have to be space-bound as the sheer mass would make breaking gravity expensive.

Superb episode chap, the build has really come a long way. As for the attack methods, I think it will take multiple units to destroy a base - so probably assemble in space, use Hopper to position them for drop/launch - then manually start the units path, start spin, launch decoys, launch boom-booms - then start the next unit launch. If each unit has 5 decoys and 10 warheads, by the 3rd unit - you could probably have intact controls - all the way to target. Be interesting to see how you solve the problem, as always chap 👍

I am curious why dont you use remote control to steer the rockets yourself to the target? Its far less then 50km which is the max distance that remote control will work in.

Good question. Thanks. I've tried that in past playthroughs (before this channel) and found that the risk of losing the rocket, camera, remote, or antenna before impact is too high. It's the same reason I'm not using AI blocks. If we can use gravity to keep the bomb on target, then we can just use a remote to start the process with far less risk of being intercepted. Also allows me to build cluster systems more reliably.
