This is a script for easy autonomous mining in Space Engineers.
It uses a specified path to connect the mining position and your docking station instead of using the buggy pathfinding function of the remote block. Its designed for planets and space. It works with small and large ships.

Hello everyone, I have used this script before and found it quite incredible. However, when I tried to use it in SE (Last update a of February 4th) I cannot seem to get it working, I mean, the script works fine, it loads in the world without a problem but, the LCD or now "Text panel" doesn't show the script running because the option of "Show text on screen" doesn't appear anymore, please help me guys so that I can once again enjoy this amazing script.

What about fuel/charge? What does the ship do if it's running low on power? I can already see my ship going dead mid flight somewhere and floating off into space or smashing into the body.

it has a fuel system. you can just set a percentage on which it will return to hime. it also charges every time it is at the home position

yeah you can set up as you want but default is just fine and safe to go

I've checked and used it myself, script works like a head on a rotor. I say that because it pretty much does exactly what it's supposed to do. It's much easier than i thought it would be. You have to get this script if you need every resource at the same time! And even if you don't you still want this script. It will never hit anything unless your ship has unsuficient power or you build something in the path of the prerecording, and if there is too much air/space traffic. And with that, keks, here is a which of inprovement, or a few, right here in case you're looking for what to add. 1. Grid Relative flightpaths, having a mothership stationary during mining operations is risky, this problem would be solved by having a waypoint system that is locked relative to the grid, while docked the script should record waypoints while leaving the ship relative to the entire vessel until it's reached the distance of the motherships radius, plus 10m. That last waypoint is the approach waypoint and will avoid entering the m/ship keep out radius, then the same as the gps marker the drone will approach its dock as recorded. 2. Departure and Approach path recordings would be the same as the current script, but with 2 paths. With multiple drones its risky to overlap oneway path recordings, having an option to record and simulate oneway traffic can help with trafic jams ond colision of in and outbound traffic. 3. Option to trigger Actions via timers when reaching a custom action waypoint durring path recording. This has a lot of applications such as deploying landing gears, opening and closing bay doors, limits are bound to the limit of space engineers. 4. Forward colision avoidance, yes players fly capital ships through a miners flightpath and crash into drones, a sensor doesn't fix it, but a camera with a forward facing raycast capability does. That's all for now, i'll work out how to film these problems I am having, cause you have to see how bad traffic gets, i just love automating economy with your script man i got over board.

Will this script allow for the continuous retrieval of a specific ore type? If the specified mine is exhausted will it continue to dig at the location or will it stop?

@@whitecocoa42 According to the quarry like setup, the script will make you manually setup a virtual box to dig out, so yes Matthew as soon as the script has dug out the box it will return to base ready to assign a new area to be dug out. now the retrieval of continuously digging out a specific ore type is only in a custom manner if you have conveyor sorters pump everything but the ore your're trying to get into the ejectors, I don't recall the feature that the script is looking for further ore nodes and continue fully autonomously.

Hey I really like you're idea, think it may be easier if the mothership has an antena and remote control so it can check the variation in the mothership position -thus broadcast it to the ship- then the docking gps coords can be easily translated into the new ones! Gonna try and code it :)

@@ApoloSh71 I would love to try that out when you got it working! I have a large mother ship with a fighter bay that due to constraints also has a corridor fighters have to use in order to enter and exit, I tried messing around with gravity rotor based tractor beams but this doesn't work as universal as the ship has to have a specific mass and is overall very unpractical. It'd be very useful if the script you're making is truly relative like RDAV's Drone Command but can make drones navigate around the virtual keep-out sphere (Same type of approach as to the international space station) to the path that lets them enter the corridor, follow a path through the mother ship and onto a home docking connector. But for universal applications a carrier type vessel that has a flight-deck, where you don't want the drone to collide with the bottom of the carrier but instead navigate around a safety bubble to a safe approach point set by the user.

can it control mining ships that have to continually change orientation in order to drill a tunnel they can fit into? Like a one-axis rotation, with a row of drills across the front that rotates to make a circular tunnel, or two-axis maneuvering with a single drill in front that just points the drill at all the points in range in the excavation path before moving forward?

For me I'd rather add more drills or adjust the shape of ship. But it's still a good idea in specific conditions, like using modded drills that cost much to build and while playing in a server that has strict limit to number of drills you can build :D

😮😮😮. Works on XBOX!! I’m sure it can work on pS. Since we only have 4 slots available in the D pad. All you really need is to able to move the lcd. 😅😅😅. And some of these miners ALREADY come with PAM uuugh such an EZ set up. *** Just make sure that scripts are turned on ***

major props on this script. I was using another auto mining script and it was ok but 6 times out of 10 the ship would malfunction. I set this up showed it were to go and now im enjoying watching it mine away. There was a mention of being able to display up to 6 miners on a LCD. I am abit lost as to how to get this to work. I can set up lcd on the miner itself and it works great but how do i set up my base to see the miner?

Hum it should be working. I just tried it with mine and no issues. Try it with default cockpit, and if you have non-english keyboard try to copy and paste all the chars from the guide into the cockpit name.

Still working and still one of the best scripts ever. Even unloading at big freighters - forget small grid freighters, they'll move too much. The simple fact of connecting can move a small cargo, works perfect with large grids, though. Now someone needs to merge this with SAM and we get one script for all ;)

What lcd screen are you using? I can't find a screen block that small

it's a vanilla small grid 1x1 LCD panel, if you're playing in survival you may need to unlock it first, in the G menu under progression, or just follow the key sequence : "G" "L" "C" "D" to make all available LCD screens visible in the G menu without progression setting enabled. if you use the LCD block that has a +, means that it has multiple variants that you can scroll through with the mouse wheel. Do know however that any modded or un-modded LCD panel named with [PAM] will make the User interface appear, no matter what size.

Yeah, It is a Text Panel. I have no idea why they creator of this video would have went into the control panel to change the name to "LCD" before showing us and then act like they are changing the name again for the first time. If it was an LCD Panel when placed, it would have shown up as "LCD Panel" not "LCD." The only indication was the wording on the right hand side saying "Type: Text Panel." (or something to that extent.)
