I am not the only one that feels this way when I say it Doc, but I feel that everyone enjoys your content enough that you don't have to worry about racing to edit or keeping a super strict schedule. On top of that, I believe you fans would give you a ton of slack especially since you have been sick for a little bit. Further, from what I understand is that you are also in College or higher education so you have other things that require your attention. All in all, we appreciate the work and content you do give us, as it is very high quality, entertaining and is full of effort. Keep safe, take some time to get better, and have a good one!

Hey Doc! During my run of K2+SE, I solved my power problems around this stage in the game by setting up biomethanol production from greenhouses and atmospheric condensers. I found it useful on planets that had low solar, but still had water. I don't know what the solar ratio of your new moon base is, but it looks like you're committed to solar on there. Still, the biomethanol can be more energy dense than solar on the right planet, and as a bonus it's much louder.

On topic off Factorio: Doc.. u need to increase ur Energy output ( moar blankets! ) to produce more Heat, to kill those pesky invaders. Things like Boiling Water and adding Herbs to it is a good idea aswell, maybe adding a fluid pump directly back to ur spawn point for easy access. Then increase the Melatonin throughput - and get some well deserved rest 😉. Get well soon ☺!

I've been trying to play this alongside you (with just a few extra mods...) and while I am not quite as far along, I am starting to understand between watching you and playing myself what true efficiency and scale means. It's not just 10 assemblers making something, it is 100s. It is not just a couple power plants, it is an entire power infrastructure spanning a planet. It is very easy to beat vanilla factorio, I understand this now, and these mods bring it up to a whole new level of understanding. Especially since I love to research everything, even if I don't need it.

Just wait until you get the GOOD beacons. I'm over 500 hours in my save (a LOT of time has been spent/lost to bugs since I'm also using Rampant with K2SE) and I'm mass producing Tier 4 modules and wide area beacons that can cover a 15 wide radius. My refining and smelting setup went down by more than half in terms of buildings used but is almost quadruple the output.

I don't understand why you don't use warehouses in your loading and unloading train stations. They're more compact and automatically does belt balancing for you.
@TheNerdling4 ай бұрын
They aren't more compact. They all take up more space than the storage they give if you just used a normal chest. The belt balancing thing is true only if you have one wagon. You still need to balance when using multiple wagons.
@magneticpizzasr4 ай бұрын
they're bad for UPS, more slots in 1 chest being accessed by 6 inserters is slower than 6 small chests with 1 inserter per, same with loaders.
@LOMSERMAN4 ай бұрын
@@magneticpizzasr you're not wrong, I've made my tests for 2-wagon trains. Loading/unloading is similar to 1:13 1920 wagons, loading and unloading simultaneously, 6 yellow lanes for each wagon, non-stop. Result is - 49-50 UPS for warehouses and 51-52 UPS for iron chests. The truth is - nobody will ever achieve this mush action and rather lose UPS elsewhere. @TheNerdling Regarding the compactness, warehouses layout is most compact for me. To unload & balance 2 wagons It takes 8x14 tiles with warehouses, and 11x14 tiles with iron chests.

You have way too many cannons my fellow SE player. You need to set up automated cargo rockets with the satellites/receivers. Automate 1 CR for all the land-based science cards (ie: 1000 each into 1 CR), 1 CR for each of the plates, 1 CR for pyroflux, etc. You need to develop out "rocket logistics" across your solar system. The cannons are for low frequency items. Solar is something like 300% more efficient in space, so start mass producing panels (you don't need accumulators in space, there's no nighttime) now for later when you will need 100s of GW in space. CRs can auto launch when full and won't launch when the target pad still has stuff in it. CR pads with the same name will get rotated (ie: pad X on navius, pad X on moon, launching from Y. if X on navius has stuff, it skips and launches to moon. if both non-empty, it waits until one has room)
