This game looks like the result of an affair between Space Invaders and Parodius. That's not a bad thing, though. I played this game a lot back then and I sure had fun with it.

I seem to recall one of the local pizza parlors having this game in their game room back in the day. I actually thought it was hilarious since the game was in between Galaga and PAC-MAN, two games that actually took themselves a bit more seriously. 😆

Well, Sayo-chan is mostly from original 1986 "Kiki Kaikai", while Miyo-chan is the 2UP character from Famicom Disk System only sequel "Kiki Kaikai Doutouhen"

That's the formula about what about mixing Taito's classic "Space Invaders" with Konami's "Parodius" Characters: - Dan (Teke teke 1) and Mayumi (Teke teke 2) Space capsules based on original Space Invaders' cannons, this time with the hybrid skill like Majestic 12 from "Super Space Invaders '91"/"Majestic 12: The Space Invaders part IV" - Clyde (Proco) and Bonnie (Tiat) Spaceships from "Darius" franchise. - Sayo-chan (Amoulet 1) and Miyo-chan (Amoulet 2) Flying ships based on japanese miko's objects - Wanko/Harry (Trash bin) and Nyanko/Nancy (Paperboard box) Space alley mascots driving street junk shaped rockets - Ben ben (Toilet I) and Pen pen (Toilet II) Pieces of shit driving Bathroom Toilets Curiosities: - Proco and Tiat pilots are named Clyde and Bonnie. Names are based on a criminal couple from 1930's United States. - Sayo-chan is original from "Kiki Kaikai" released in Arcade on 1986, while Miyo-chan became from the Famicom Disk System only sequel named "Kiki Kaikai Doutouhen" released one year later (On that sequel, Miyo-chan is 2UP's character, while Sayo-chan is 1UP's character) - The remaining characters are originals. Special case is for Dan and Mayumi, who were placed as pilots for original Space Invaders capsules. - Wanko/Harry and Nyanko/Nancy are the only characters who have their own bullets/lasers: The trash bin can throw bones, while the paperboard box can shot fish skeletons. - Ben ben's ship is based on a wall toilet, while Pen pen's ship is based on traditional toilet. - Each character has a special shot when charged.
