It's an offense to the original game, that was a masterpiece, this one somehow manages to look worse. There was a legend of Kage 2 for DS that was pretty good too.

This was made for the PSP and is part of a compilation (Taito Legends Power Up) with the intention of being close to the original as much as possible but with 3D. It is not a recent remake.

The boss battle was a really nice touch. The original had an interesting background that requiered a boss battle that was here. Still, I feel it could have been a better remake (sometimes sticking too much to the base formula is not a good idea) The soundtrack was very good. Overall, good remake. Now, we need a nee remake that includes the lore and story of this game (seems to me like a beautiful poem that passed thorugh generations)

I love it. But I think doing a 2D-HD instead of a 3D graphics would've been better. High definition, highly detailed 2d graphics look much better than the 2d polygon based shapes, IMHO.

Just because it's in 3d doesn't make it better. The original was very basic but the speed and flow of the game was much better. They should have rather just upgraded the 2d resolution and improved the colours etc. They could have replaced elements of the song with actual traditional Japanese/Chinese musical instruments as well. I really like the fact that it plays from right to left. Somehow it's a lot better. I also like the ninja star sound effect lol. The first stage is by far the best though, all the jumping through trees etc. It just looks great.

The most annoying thing is the introduction of the loading screen, totally break the flow. The game also shorter with only 2 'rescues', the snow-themed stages also gone.

I tried this remake and... well, it is unplayable. I can't beat it because, it has weird hitbox, there is little time to react to enemy incoming projectiles and in general, this game is repetitive the same as original game. Sure, I can forgive it to original NES game, since it was released back in the days when everyone was experimenting with ideas, but I can't forgive it to so called remake, that tries to remake original game and make it better.

Mmm... mixed feelings here, the remake is really not that good, "less is more" lesson would have worked better in my opinion. In the original, one spent more time flying through the woods, throwing stars, and the movement was far more smooth and fast-paced than this remake. I give it a 2/10 The only saving grace is the music.

The original game was completely boring. Unimaginative level design, same thing over and over. The main character’s animation is as corny and stupid looking as the original as well. I can’t imagine any kids actually liked this or the original, but I guess some did. I’d have been bored within the first 5 minutes playing any Legend of Kage game.
