Back with another Space Marine 2 video with *Hopefully* more to come, I'm enjoying branching out covering more then one game and if you are as well be sure to show your support so I can continue to do so! @Eravin are you sure it's Invigorating Icon and not lv9 Rejuvenating Effect? I was doing that execution heal strategy long well before I got to lvl23. I expected Invigorating Icon to combo and instaheal everyone but I think it just recovers existing contested health not provided by the banner. I only tested once but I'm 95% sure the contested health is an unwritten effect of Rejuvenating Effect.

Trying to toss a Krak @ Tyranid Warrior only for it to attach to Hormagaunt that I was supposed to parry for armor (It leaped on Me!?!?).

This. While hilarious, can be so frustrating 😂 Stuck a sorc and tried to roll backwards to disengage. Marine teleports behind me and kicks me in the back knocking me closer 😭

I'm looking forward to seeing your class guides, most other guides are just "use this because X" without really going into the "why" or comparing it to other options, both for class perks and weapon mastery perks. I'm interested in learn what stats and traits are most valuable, opportunity cost and other such things.

I was just thinking about that last night, how I could make the guide right now on Sniper and it would "Probably" be right, but without maxing every other primary I don't know for sure, and I can't give that kind of insight on why. Which is why i'm waiting to do so :)

I would add that the gun strike (shooting your pistol at a tagged enemy) isnt something you should do without care for what is going on. Unlike executions, you are NOT invincible during gunstrikes. Enemies can and will tear you to pieces while you perform it even if it is a quick gesture. The tag stays for a little while, don't worry about shooting your shot right now, stay safe and then shoot.

Oh, very neat that the heavy teammate revive works team wide! That instantly elevates it from situationally useful to very useful. The perks that relies on your teammates being dead are bad though

Tip for going on substantial difficulty: Fencing melee weapon, it makes game way more bearable when you don't know how or you just lack reflexes to parry with balanced option. And parry + gun strike -> execution through your fights.

Swapped to fencing asap, something I mentioned in my beginner sniper guide cause it's just so much more helpful then some extra damage or speed when melee isn't even your focus.

Playing the heavy class taught me to parry on balanced defense because I was forced to learn or die on Ruthless difficulty and there's have no fencing melee to help.

Change interface settings to always show you where to go at all times. Helps make exploring for stuff 1000x easier. I personally set it also to where I can always see my health and teammates health also instead of dynamic. And I see the melta rifle is bugged, so that’s why my vanguard is unkillable. I thought it was from the more contested health back perks I had from stuff.

A big tip that can help you get armor back, if you dodge roll and melee out of it, it can pretty consistently set up small enemies for gun strikes so you can ideally last longer if you're in the thick of it

Another thing to mention about rejuvenating effect, the bulwark gets full contested health the moment they plant the banner, so if they chain into an execution they also have access to a full hp heal. Also for some reason the bulwark gets full hp when they hit the loadout swap drop pod, even if they select the same class. Might be a bug, not certain, but I’ll let you decide the morality of it if you’re last alive at the end of a substantial+ run. There are sections where you have access to this pod during a terminus event, and since there’s no limit on class swaps, you can fully heal multiple times. Kind of heretical if I do say so myself. Leandros would throw away the key for such resistance to chaos.

Personally I’ve been doing substantial threat operations with basic and green level gear as long as you have at least 1 other real person in your squad that isnt a complete noobie it isn’t that hard to regularly complete lvl 3 difficulty missions

Multi melta and laser sniper rifle are not bugged - you got in description that gives you back life for dmg done not for dmg done to first enemy that was on line of sight

“Instant Health: When your Health is below 30%, killing 3 enemies or more with one shot restores Health by 5%” As in, 5% Hp per shot, not 5% per target hit, it’s pretty clear and considering overhealing contested is most certainly a bug as hitting multiple enemies with melee still caps you at contested maximum, this is likely also yes a bug.

Friendly grenades only stagger, no damage. Same goes for blowing up red objects. You can only be directly damaged by your own explosions.

For me the bulwark is able to have full contested health on banner from the revive perk though it may be a glitch 1:58. Personally I’m hoping that the revive combined with contested health gain perk just full heals people on banner drop but I guess I’ll find out.

I have a healing issue. Was playing Assault class on average diff last night and for some reason, my melee hits/kills doesn't restore my contested health (not even a pinch of it), unless I execute or shoot with firearm. Why is that and is this happening to anyone? My melee weap was a hammer, in case that has something to do with it.

As long as your weapon is classified as "balanced" or "fencing", hitting the block button at the right time when a blue indicator pops up will allow you to parry. You can also parry other attacks, but this will usually require you to parry multiple attacks in a combo before it counts as a parry. In either case a cross air should appear over the enemy's head, allowing you to perform a gun counter for some big damage. Hope this helps.

@@MrThademon Youve gotta be miss timing it then. Some classes (like heavy) have a much smaller window to parry properly. So if you hit it too early you get whacked

@@Colonel-Sigma I pretty much use tactical and vanguard and have been having no luck so I haven't cranked up the difficulty to get better gear that might rectify this cuz I can't figure out one of the most basic tenants of the game. Probably why my experience with this is so bad.

Has anyone been able to figure out what "firepower" is supposed to be? I know it's related to damage, but nothing else

It's a non linear estimation of a weapon's damage, numerically it basically has no value beyond "15 is More than 14" But the breakpoints of the game are designed in such a way that the highest damage version of every weapon i've used thus far, has a better breakpoint then the weapon with lower firepower, even if they are only 1 firepower apart.

@@EravinVT Take this with a grain of salt, but I think one place we can look that might give us some insight would be WWZ, another saber interactive title. The game uses a nearly identical stat breakdown as the one seen in space marine 2. When asked directly what the calculation for the “power” stat was, here’s what saber had to say: Power consists of these parameters: damage per shot, rate of fire, time for emptying the store magazine, and reloading time. There are such parameters as raw damage and drop-off over the distance. However, these parameters are not specified for the players. Different weapons have different reload times. Eravin, the banner heal trick doesn't require a perk... this is like the third or fourth time I've said this... you can check the build I sent you, it doesn't use that perk, that perk is honestly kind of useless.

@@EravinVT Nope, the perk says "When the banner is activated, all Squad Members regain maximum Contested Health" it wouldn't give you contested health, it would just turn any health that's already contested into actual health. Or at least it appeared to be doing when I tried it out.
