My head cannon is that a random large Imperial transport carrying a variety of surviving forces retreating from some cataclysmic war the Imperium lost botched a warp jump getting thrown out of the warp at a lost human world dating back to before the Dark age of Technology that was hidden by warp storms somehow untouched by the Men of Iron eventually being conquered by the Tau who are now in the early stages of integrating the advanced ancient human civilization on this planet calling this new advanced sub faction of Tau "The Advent". The Imperial ship coming out of warp with such force it broke up crashing several large parts onto this planet leaving a stranded scattered melting pot of extra pissed off Imperials to wage a full on semi organized guerrilla war against the Advent Tau getting varying levels of assistance form the multiple already existing fledgling resistance factions. Purging the world of such foul technologies would have to get in line behind the legion of xeno and their traitor slaves

The idea behind pure space marines squad is valid, but would like it if the kriegs and the guards get some of their security back. I think it will be refreshing to see them mixed back. Thanks for the banger video!

It just wouldn’t feel right splitting the marines I don’t think, they just wouldn’t leave their brothers to fight with mere soldiers, sisters might do when on pelgrimage, but marines just wouldn’t. And Surreal did a great job getting them the death watch left pauldron.Awesome sauce Surreal

Gonna be honest, I've never really been interested in Xcom. I watched some gameplay of it years ago, and it really didn't appeal to me at all. Now you've gone and slapped a bunch of 40k stuff on it and I'm second guessing that assessment. Why am I like this?😅

Are catachan like regular guardsmen or are they like special forces of guardsmen I know they were based off of rambo

Mostly "regular" in as far as anything in 40k is regular. They are a regiment raised from a deathworld, think jungle where everything tries to kill you and I do mean everything. Makes em better than most guard at jungle warfare but they aren't special forces like stormtroopers/kasrkin/scions. Atleast to the best of my knowledge. The "joke" guy based on rambo is a Catachan called Sly Marbo

So, the Catachan jungle fighters are "regular" Guardsmen in the sense that they don't have any special weapons, equipment, or upgrades that give them their unique edge. What makes them special is the planet they are from. Catachan is one of a special handful of worlds that are called a "deathworld". The jungles of Catachan are so deadly, that the Jungle Fighters equate even one single day on Catachan to the most suicidal combat engagements other Imp Guard regiments undertake. Catachan Devils are the most deadly and competent jungle fighters of any human, often seen as being on par with Astartes when in their favored environment. Basically, Catachan is 40k Space Australia, and the Guardsmen that such a world produces are suitably adapted to thrive in such an environment.

Also another suggestion (tbc just a lore suggestion) squad D should get an apothecarian asap, as he’s responsible for recovering the geneseed of any downed brother, as it can not be replicated due to genetic drift. It is of the utmost importance it is recovered to replenish the ranks of the chapter, even in the death watch this duty is imperative as it is of sacred importance it be returned to the chapter of origin, it’s the geneseed of one of their elite champions (tmho 40k meta has been grown and nourished for over 30+ years and probably the most indepth lore out there, you just have to stick with it, let’s hope Cavill does) “In the grim dark of space, there is only war!”

I have a question: why doesn't the plasma gun already have shredder? The same with the bolt gun, I'm mean it specifically says in lore that the bolter rounds have AP tips. And the plasma burns away armor that it touches.

Who should be the commander of squad D? You need a chaplain in there. Deathwatch Chaplains are known for their extreme knowlage of each chapter's tradition and rituals, able to bond marines from chapters that tend to dislike each other (Black Templars and Salamanders for example), or at the very least keep them in line. Also its shame you don't have a chaplain as it is,whos leading your marines into prayer between fights?
