Let me clarify some things. How Salamanders called rof reinforcments? Vect made sure their Librarian will live long enough to do it. He kept Webway portal open and used it all as distraction to get rid of his rivlas within Commoragh. In a sense Imperium was also victorius, because not only did they save remaining Salamnders, but also killed probably the most Dark Eldar in single war in history.

Yes, while they couldn't have pulled it off without Vects scheming, this was also a colossal loss for the dark eldar and they learned, that an angry Salamander is even more dangerous than a normal one. (and they already hate drukhari with a passion on normal days) Just want to also add that the Salamanders don't hate all eldar, but Drukhari specifically, because they regularly raided Nocturne in the past.

​@@Yormolch Eh, it's not really even a significant loss in the long-term, all those Nobles could be cloned, if Vect allowed it (which he probably did just so they could crawl at his feet), the forces are easily replaced in the same way, the buildings can be rebuilt, and Vect is a leader infinitely more dangerous than the previous nobility. I don't think Vect would have allowed anything that would have weakened Commoragh significantly down the line, just like always, it's the illusion of defeat while victory has been taken elsewhere.

It's possible, but the scale of the place is mind-bending. It's a series of pocket dimensions all stitched together. There's a moment in one novel where they use a caged star hovering above part of the city as a weapon against invading demons. Even with thousands of astartes, they couldn't hope to cover the whole place.

I would say that out of all the xenos, the dark elders are definitely the worst. All the other ones are tragic in a way, and the orcs are literally biological weapons and might as well be programmed, the tyranids while scary as fuck, are running from something, somewhere that we don't know anything about, the necrons were betrayed and had their souls and bodies ripped from them and were made emotionless and mindless except the nobles and a rare few like deathmarks, the tau and craftworlders are just trying to survive. The dark eldar tho, they deserve so much worse, i hope they all eventually get consumed

Intentionally crashing a battle barge onto a dark eldar fortress tower because fck you, then a pissed off chapter of astartes known to never leave anyone behind started pouring out said crashed battle barge because fck you how dare you capture our men The last time I read something of such was when the grey knights with papa smurf and his blue boys were gridlocked with magnus and his merry band of miscreants on the moon, then the entirety of the sol fleet *along with* the custodian fleet in its all shiny gold glory suddenly appeared on the skies above to rain down hell and fury, *as* more custodians suddenly teleporting on the lunar surface to kick ass *as* drop ships after drop ships of imperial guard started pouring out, which turned the tide and galvanized the GK to charge with reckless abandon to purge the unclean "as all this was happening" bright yellow drop pods started crashing down in the middle of the chaos forces bursting out very pissed off space marines known to give no ground in defense of the imperium known as the Imperial Fist, as said imperial fist fleet suddenly appeared beside the sol and custodian fleet to add to their hellfire. Honestly if somehow chaos managed to pull in their fleet *and then* the Phalanx warped in, would be the chef's kiss on how over the top epic this frakkin franchise is

@@josephdavis4682 they do? there's so much fluff about 40k; just from the top of my head in the Hammer of the Emperor Omnibus book, it told in great narrative detail from the guardsman commander pov on how a Tyranid infestation force absolutely dismantled the IG's tactics/maneuvers, countering it blow per blow, all the while each nid wave adapting to whatever new hardware the IG brought to bear; then it leads to when the IG was about to be defeated the whole desert battlefield just bursts with nids specializing in siege warfare because they finally got bored and wanted to finish the fight via overkill which made the commander realize there wasn't even any chance in the first place. There's even old eldar fluff I remember reading back in the day fighting necrons with their over the top weapons
