How did they do the energy tunnel sound, given its from 1975? What kind of synth did they use? Still, it’s a pretty damn good find!

It’s just an 8-bit square wave rising in pitch. A very basic wave form on a synthesizer. Square waves like this and triangle waves were common place on many early synth sound chips and even on many early games like those on the Nintendo Entertainment system.
