As a kid I was introduced for this in an even *lower* budget knockoff film called Andy & The Airwave Rangers aka Andy Colby's Incredible Adventure. The premise is a kid rents a magic VHS that transports him and his sister into their TV and and they travel through various TV channels & get into adventures. Of course everything on TV is a C-tier Corman production & it's just an excuse to splice existing footage of B movies with really *bad* blue screen to give the illusion the kids are interacting with it. Probably a good 10-15 minutes of the flick was from Space Raiders although I had always thought the footage was from Battle Beyond the Stars on account of the distinctive space ship on the VHS cover. Kind of a crazy Corman-ception - Andy & the Airwave Rangers recycled footage of Space Raiders which recycled footage from Battle Beyond the Stars...queue the Keanu Reeves...WHOA O__O

For anyone from the UK, Space Raiders means a brand of crisps/chips, popular in the 80's. They were really tasty, with a pickled onion flavour. The back of the packet had a story about how the evil villainess Astra was trying to take over the galaxy. Made even funnier, by Astra being a model of car, that was really un-cool.
