That role flip at the beginning weirded me out, since when did Mars need convincing to abruptly go out on a crazy adventure? Isn't that normally Spawrks's thing? And why the hell was he so enthusiastic about it? You guys spend way too much time together.

Oh... wait. I'm being an idiot, aren't I? This is what you had in mind from the start, you were just playing hard to get to screw with him and that's how you got Spawrks to agree to let you pick where to go. You absolute madman.

Ah good questions. The beginning was supposed to be about how Spawrks finally wants to go exploring and get his name on a star or planet. He’s always enjoyed going places with Mars and has come to the realization that space should be fun all on his own. Mars however has no sense of peril and can’t tell the difference between a spa on Tatooine vs one on Hoth. Also despite being a cruise ship captain Mars never likes exploring just for the hell of it. But Mars does owe Spawrks a new ship. (He accidentally blew up Spawrks’ FDL) So Spawrks makes Mars take him along thinking that crew members will also receive exploration credit (spoiler alert: they don’t). Turns out Mars just needed to stop and pee there but couldn’t leave till after they passed the neutron star. Then he only found worth in the sale of exploration data which left Spawrks with no credit and only the experience of the trip to call his own. All this was waaaaaay too much dialogue so we cut it out. We actually cut out about two or three episodes worth of dialogue and footage each episode because it just doesn’t flow well. There’s a lot of back story to these two but it’s just so damn boring to tell and still keep the videos interesting for those who have never seen them before.

Sort of ;) but yeah. The formula to most of our videos is that Spawrks gets Mars to do something but loses something because of it.

Ghost Giraffe Oh... It would seem that I've misunderstood Mars as a character quite a bit, and it makes perfect sense now. That bit about no sense of peril makes it funnier. It was obvious that he's a fruit basket but I couldn't quite put my finger on it why he ends up pulling these crazy antics every time. Thanks for taking the time and giving some insight on the characters, now I know why he thought it was perfectly fine during the stream to take those poor refugees from one of the burning stations for a Thargoid sightseeing with complete disregard for their safety instead of heading straight to the rescue ship.

There are a few in the bubble, but they're more prominent in outposts in further away Nebulas. Every nebula within a 15k radius of the bubble has an asteroid outpost. If you want to find them, try using Inara they should give you a location on all the asteroid bases.

Head to eddb.io, on the stations tab go down to "Types" and you can use that to find Asteroid Bases and other types of stations. Just use your current system as a reference and you can see how far away one is! They're scattered a bit all over, but not super common (I think only 46 in total?).
