Canadian here, for my country, I would say a 7. It's pretty important because we have a lot of land that is sparsely populated and our weather makes running wired connections very difficult so we need satelite systems like Starlink up in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and the Yukon as well as the norther parts of most provinces. Or at least, those systems make it a lot easier to help people when things go south, which sadly is more common than desirable. On a Global scale, I think space travel is a 10. We would not, in my opinion have the population and other issues we'd have to the same extent if we were colonizing space like the 70s and 80s Sci-Fi series I grew up with promised we would now. Seriously, I often feel that Cyberpunk 2020's future that Pondsmith foresaw turned out to be the utopia compared to where we are today in a lot of respects. Now granted, I realize that comes with its own problems too. I don't think mankind will ever be free of problems and I do see crazy organizations like Millitech and Weyland-Yutani as things to watch out for in space colonization and travel. That being said, I also think we should be going for it. We do we not have powered armour suits building habitat domes on Mars yet? How do we get there? If we could get to the point of the old Masters of Orion games where we are encasing gas giants in metal spheres, then I think we'd have our population issues more or less solved and the galaxy would be ours to explore. I mean we're going to have to leave or accept fiery annihilation some day.

I just happened to be in Florida, and got to watch the launch, the first time the space shuttle _Atlantis_ went up. It was a night launch, so SRB separation was clearly visible even from miles away.

Nebraska USA! Space travel is critical to this nation (10 out of 10) as we kinda are a world leader in this mode of transport, and many nations depend on our systems to get their payloads up into orbit, the communications and GPS signals from our satellites, etc.

QotV: I live in Arkansas. I believe that space travel, exploration and industry is important. It stinulates innovation, creates jobs, and advances science.

Space Travel or High Tech industries investment at a 6 out of 10, would be a long term benefit - we already do Oil and Gas well let's move forward. There are other important things as well here in Canada and Globally, but we have already boosted current tech to a profitable state - Please can we move forward too?

QotV: Man space is extremely important so much science will benefit from labs out there , but first we have to master the oceans i think before we can get really serious about space. Im watching your vids from ole rocky mountains btw! 😀 Could see some great adventure opportunities coming from an emergency landing out those demon infested areas.

QotV: 10. 11. 30! We can't stay on this rock indefinitely. And even if we don't want to go colonize, because whooo that's hard, there is a borderline infinite supply of resources in the belt we could be tapping into.

Portland Or here...east side. Space is important globally due to a need for defense from major impacts. Think asteroids and such. Well, if we humans intend to keep chugging along anyway. For the nation it would just be bragging rights...nothing wrong with that tho.

QotV: I rep my hometown in my profile picture.😏 I've always been of the opinion that space travel is important for HUMANITY, period. Sooner or later, this planet will not sustain us as a species, long-term, so space exploration and ultimately human extraterrestrial colonization is necessary. The lines on the map today won't matter in a time when nowhere is particularly great to live in. Whether it's climate change, super-volcano eruption, asteroid strike, or our own stupidity, it's naive to think humankind is protected from extinction level events by literally putting all the eggs in one basket by NOT colonizing beyond Earth.

As an American Christian I believe space travel to be of zero importance. I also believe it helps atheists to be more prideful about themselves and makes them think they can save themselves without God.
