Great job on this playthrough. I've watched it a few times now, and it really helped me focus on gameplay and not re-reading rules.

Great game, have the expansion but not played it solo yet, will do soon. You asked about other good exploration games, I think you would love Expedition Zetta from Ion Game Design, solo, co-op and multiplayer, with cards that can generate thousands of bot variants, that can be used in any of those game play modes. It has a number of modules, I play with them all. For system exploration it has a fantastic planetary system generator that has a capacity to generate as many possible combinations as the estimated number of stars in the known universe - 6x1023. It creates a unique code for each planet, which means you can replay using the same planets. It includes a decks of 66 double sided pre defined planets, if you don't want to use it. The system can be used with other games, RPGs or space games that need generated planets. Jplay produced a set of videos of his game play.

Well played Colin...hey bad pun time...Colin the Space Coliniser? lol Thanks,. that was really fun to watch along! Just last week, astronomers decided that Neptune is as blue as they thought. The reason had something to do with the images provided by one of the Voyager probes, and the blue values were enhanced so some of the banding could be seen with the greater contrast. For some reason this step was missed. It's only just a bit more blue than Uranus. It's been cold here in the UK so it is possible that my butt is bluer than Uranus (Apologies for the schoolboy humour! lol) ps the science news is legit, it wasn't me just making that up for a cheap pay off lol

Colin, what amazes me most (being a game maker most likely highlights this) is the game balance is so well done. Considering all of the different things that can be done, it must have taken them a very long time to create this expansion. I like your strategies. Getting move in the infra is critical and getting that radiation adaptation is key. I'd like to see another video of you playing a non genetics goal oriented company to see how that pans out. I'm going to buy this in a couple of months, any leads to where the best price might be?

Kevin!! This game is just glorious. I love the 3 phases and how they interact and the expansion is what was needed to make it a great game from a good game. As for where to get it, I ended up going to the second hand market and picked it up with the expansion for about 60 bucks. Otherwise it's just expensive like any other gmt game

@@MeetMeAtTheTable I played my first game and didn't use the expansion. I was down by a point after Mariners, up by 1 after Planeteers, but the comp got the first beyond so I was behind the whole time and ended up losing 109-100.
