"PROPULSION: High-mobility Articulated Legs." Best description I've ever seen
@SpearM30646 жыл бұрын
Reminds me of the old _Earthsiege_ video games. You were piloting a robot called a HERCULAN: Humaniform-Emulation Roboticized Combat Unit with Leg-Articulated Navigation. (Makes me wonder how hard they had to work to come up with that acronym?)
@Irondrone46 жыл бұрын
The way I usually sell people on the movie is thus: You see, there is a moment where the giant robot has to punch a monster, but someone on the design team decided that the robot couldn't punch hard enough on its own. So, the robot activates an elbow rocket so that it can punch the monster in the face even harder.
@KentheDeer6 жыл бұрын

@@kineticdeath Someone actually did the math on that. Being hit by the elbow rocket is roughly the same amount of energy as being hit by a fully-loaded 747 aircraft moving at 65 kph.

I thought it was funny that humanity’s answer to the Kaiju attacks was to build big robots to punch them in the face.
@Evil0tto6 жыл бұрын
If you read the "Tales from Year Zero" prequel comic, the scientist behind the Jaeger program sees his young son playing with a robot toy and realizes that it's actually a perfect solution. It spares cities the destruction of a nuke, limits the spread of kaiju blood, and is eminently adaptable.

Evil Otto unfortunately the writers for the sequel throo out the part about saving the city for the sake of mindless action and want on destruction. Now the only thing worse than a Kaiju attack is the jeagers coming to "save you" from it.

Aesthetically wise the uprising jaegers are pretty good. It is just that the movie sucked so bad. Even though I also like Gipsy Avenger too, she is unfortunately not portrayed in a way that will make her a true successor to Gipsy Danger : An iconic, legendary badass giant robot that rise up in humanity’s darkest hour and defeated the Kaiju threat with multiple memorable moments plus piloted by COMPETENT, EXPERIENCED and QUALIFIED individuals.

You can't turn a Nuclear Reactor into a nuclear bomb, but you can put it into a meltdown and eject the core underwater which would then release the (If it used) 2,800*C uranium's heat into the nearby water turning the area into a massive explosion anyways because the water would instantly get turned into steam (Which has like 1,000x more volume than water)

they likely added the self destruct so if your Jager cant keep going with a kaiju still alive they can then still kill it.

Actually, that was a pretty important line. Before that point, we saw none of that sort of mindset from Mako; only the mindset of a dedicated warrior. Remember when she criticized Raleigh's lack of obedience and adherence to orders, claiming that it was his unnecessary risk taking that made him more of a detriment than an advantage? This line showed that he unleashed something in her that showed that the two of them really *were* drift compatible; their minds could think in such a similar way... ... but only if *she* would allow herself to open up...
