In 1986 my dad worked for Sperry and when we went to Computer Central we were taken to a Sperry VIP lounge. As a 9 year old kid I thought it was very boring, but they gave me a soda so that was nice.

I honestly think the robotics exhibit and the backstage show sparked my interest in technology. I remember being absolutely blown away as a kid when the wall lowered and here's some dudes monitoring computers making the entire park work.

I really liked seeing spaceship earth and communicore on my first trip to epcot because it was awesome to learn about the history of communication and see how computers and other devices used for communication might work in the future.

Ahhhhhhh the 1980's what a great decade.....Some people had neon clothing, Some people just had logo t-shirts, jeans + trainers, to Denim, jackets, Tracksuits, etc , some people had big/really big hair other people had average hair length, short hair or no hair, + different styles of hair such a mix...Music was fantastic, as were Theatre shows, Theme Parks/Water Parks, Music Videos, Video Cameras, Cassettes, CD's or as sometimes called them then Compact Disc, Walkman, CGI/Special Effects, PC computers, Consoles, Arcades, Animatronics, MTV, Sky TV, VHS/Betamax, Films, Cartoons, TV Shows, Brick Mobile Phones, Pagers, Fax Machines, Digital Cameras, in music went from Analog to Digital from 1983......I could go on and on :-)

We went to Epcot on day 2 after opening. We were on Spaceship Earth when it stalled out. Didn't mind though cause I could sit and listen to Cronkite and that music for hours. Lots of bugs on Epcot - day 2.

Robert Dambeck The Cronkite version of Spaceship Earth didn't open until 1986.
