@@Dalers84uk It’s hard to comprehend I get it…. Simply Google “How far have our radio waves traveled”. That may put into perspective just how hard it is for us to contact any other life form. It doesn’t mean it’s not out there, it just means the universe is so vast that communication with other life forms is nearly impossible because the distances between stars are unbelievably vast. Our galaxy alone is 100,000 lights years across and our radio waves have only been traveling at light speed for a little over 100 years. Again…Google “how far have our radio waves traveled”. if you want a better interpretation on the size scale, when we are shown the ball which represents 1 billion kilometers, followed by the alpha centaur star, you should have put 42,000 balls of 1 billion kilometers between the two stars , because a light year represents 10,000 billion kilometers, when we think that Pluto is only 6 billion kilometers away, we realize to what extent space, even inside a galaxy, is consisting of 99.999% empty space. and unfortunately this kind of animation doesn't help people at all to actually be able to interpret the actual distance between objects in the sky, when your billion mile ball is halfway to a star in a animation, while in reality, this star should be 42,000 times further away, it takes time to clearly realize the distance

In 1974, we sent a message (the Arecibo message), which contained encoded information about the human race, DNA, atomic numbers, Earth's position and other information, towards the globular cluster Messier 13, which is about 25000 light years from here. So it first travels 25000 years and then, the hopeful response would take another 25000 years to reach us back and that distance is still small in the scale of the universe. The distances are simply too great with respect to the laws of physics to even contact someone or something. That's radio. The other thing is that telescopes are also bad (atleast currently) for looking for life. We cannot even see the nearest known exoplanet, Proxima Centauri b, which is just 4.2 light years from here. We can only deduce its existence because something is pulling the star, Proxima Centauri, as it does not stay perfectly still. In other words, zero proof (so far) means absolutely nothing. If our scientific instruments (and the laws of physics) were several orders of magnitude "better" and we still couldn't contact or find anything, your claim would be slightly more convincing than 0, which it is now.

It’s amazing and terrifying. It makes me fascinated with the size of space and also disappointed because I’ll die before I can see the vastness for myself.

@@jaybruno3571nasa is working for a project which will permit humans to realize the first interstellar trip, from eart to proxima centauri, the nearest star to earth after sun, a trip realizable in 20 years with a micro space probe. obviously with the technologies of nowdays reaching proxima centauri it's impossible, it would takes a trip of at least 70thousands of years. Idk how old is you, but i think that this project will be realized in 50-60 years

There is no end to the universe only the observable universe. Observable with human eyes. Very teenie weenie tiny human eyes. Please. For all our intents and purposes it's infinate. There is no end. What difference would it make to us if it had an end? We'll never be able to see that far so - as far as humans are concerned it's infinate. Like an ant trying to comprehend the size of the earth ... it can't.

People say we can’t be alone in the universe. There’s gotta be life elsewhere. We may never know but let this be an eye opener that we as humans on earth should be thankful that we’re even alive! What are the chances of you being here, you think it’s by accident? Or purpose? You decide. I choose purpose. Life is better that way.

Light is a truly fascinating thing, it allows us to perceive the nature of the universe, far further than any human being will ever go.
@andruzznaist.n.g5135Ай бұрын
Not even light, the observable universe is so big that it couldn't have normally be that big taking in consideration that: 1: it's age is around 13.7 billion years 2: nothing can go faster than light. The theory says that during the beginning, the expansive matter was so hot and condensed that basically the universe broke it's own laws of physics

The universe isn't 'out there', we're not separate from it. We are within it and a part of it. Life on earth is just matter organized in a certain way. I like to think that the whole universe is alive in its own way
