I don't know which 'Blade Runner ambience' YT track I was on, but it was just like this one. A couple years ago, I was sick with something that had dragged on for nearly two months. Every morning I crawled out of my bed, stumbled to the shower, and sat under the hot water for almost half an hour. It was just enough that I could dress myself and start my day. During the day, I coughed non-stop. It's one of those things that you just can't understand how physically painful and draining it is unless you experience it yourself. After weeks of coughing, the pain in my lungs was like I'd swallowed hot coals, and my stomach muscles started to give out because they physically couldn't tense up with the cough anymore. If I wasn't fully remote at the time, I probably would've been forced to take FMLA, but I stubbornly refused to take any time off. At night, I'd take a laundry list of anti-cough meds doctors threw at me and try to sleep. It never lasted long before I woke up coughing again, drenched in sweat, and my sheets soaked. To quote the incomparable Gordon Lightfoot, "Does anyone know where the love of God goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?" After a certain point, I started to worry I was going to die, but I was afraid to admit it to anyone. One evening not long after that point, I drove to my pharmacy to get more meds after work. It was the middle of winter but we'd had a warm spell, and a foggy, rainy night had rolled in. I was listening to music off KZbin on my phone, connected to my car stereo, and some random playlist carried me onto a track just like this one. Even now, thinking about that night causes all these feelings to come rushing back, its very difficult to articulate without tearing up a little bit. Exhausted to my bones, driving through empty streets with the traffic lights and neon shop signs punching through the fog, their lights diffusing onto the rainy streets as I slipped by like a spirit, on my way to whatever came next. I don't know if I'd call what I felt at that moment acceptance that I was going to die, but driving through the fog and rain that night with music just like this playing? It made me feel a sense of peace about my situation I hadn't felt in many, many weeks. I hope someday, when my time really has come, my passing will feel something like that night, where I can go for a drive and escape from the pain. Not long after, I finally met with the right doctor who ordered me tested for mono, which came back positive. They told me I'd probably picked up COVID-19 at the same time (Which I'd tested for, but the rapid tests back then weren't great), and since I hadn't been getting the right medication for either of them the entire time, I'd gotten both barrels so to speak. 3 months later I started to feel like myself again, but I never did get my high notes back when singing, my lungs just can't do it anymore. Anyway, thanks for listening to me ramble. All of this is to say that night will be with me forever, and I'm glad I stumbled onto this track tonight and finally had the energy to write this all out into the universe. I hope everyone who got through this is doing OK and hanging in there, from one ship in the night to another.

Hey mate. What a story. I'm happy you feel better now. I rarely take the time to read these longer comments I get at times, but something with your way of writing kept me reading. I'm glad I did, because that night you wrote about, I know that feeling myself. It's like you "Surrender" to the circumstances. It can bring almost bliss to ones mind. Thanks for charing your story. Thanks for taking the time..

Hi Daydream Believer, I was 10 in 1982, so I'm 5 years behind you in our 50's. I also remember Blade Runner when it came out, but still yet to watch the whole film! The sequel Blade Runner 2049 to me is one of the best sequels ever made in motion picture history, with a soundtrack, second to none ( that's me though) 1982's Movie was ahead of its time. I will get around to watching it. If you haven't seen 2049, you gotta see it!!👍👍 all round!

The scene with Deckard on the balcony of his home and drink in his hand battling his own demons while Rachel is inside.... and cars flying past in the night is such an iconic scene. Was a short scene but Ridley Scott captures so much with that visual without words that till this day can't be matched.

It has been exactly a year since I talked to my wife, and we made the decision to divorce. This period was one of the most difficult in my life, but it was this music that accompanied me on the path to the divorce and throughout the process. It calmed me, gave me confidence in my own strength, and helped me understand that the only thing I truly have and can rely on is myself. A year later, I can say that my life has changed for the better: I go to the mountains more often, spend a lot of time with my dog, and have progressed in my career. So, if you are in a difficult life situation, know that peace and happiness surely await you ahead.

I was living in an apartment on the 11th floor overlooking the city about 15 years ago. Not too high, not too low. I'm also a Blade Runner fan. There were days when it rains, cold temperature & rain drops combined with all the different lights from the buildings gave this somewhat depressing yet calm & content feeling. It was very late at night, the noise of the city have died down, but you can still hear the odd car driving pass & random people chatting from the apartments above or bellow me, sometimes you can also hear police sirens in the distance. Got my coat on, poured myself a drink & smoked a few cigarettes. I sat on the balcony, just out of reach from the rain. I was in a bad place at the time. Broke up with my fiance, wasn't sure what to do moving forward. It was surreal but in that short moment, I felt calm, it gave me time to think & reflect. I'm in a much better place now, met someone else, got married, had a daughter & moved to the suburbs. But, sometimes, just sometimes....I miss those moments...like tears in the rain.

First, in my honest opinion, Blade Runner followed by Tron are two of the best Sci-Fi movies today. As far back as I can remember I was always that kid that knew a lot of people but for some reason, I didn't mind too much of being alone or wanting to hang out in spaces I didn't know anyone. This goes all the way into adulthood, I'm 46 now. Dark, rustic sci-fi movies, ambient music like this in some weird way always gave me comfort with being alone a majority of my life even with being in past relationships. Something about Sci-fi, dark scenes, Cyber punk, ambient music has always fascinated me and gives me peace while reflecting on my life and being grateful for every single thing.

It really is. And one that isn´t really talked much about. This wired squirmy and floaty feeling in your somache, a tingling in the spine, a heavy weighting, melancholic yet also deeply serene and wonderous feeling. Nearly floating in your mind. And when you close your eyes you can nearly feel that world, the rain coming down, the glow of neon lights. For a moment siiting in a noodle shop in an overcrouded city thats as hostile and depressing as it also is beautiful. And it really is hard to put into words, because it´s also much more. Quite a viceral feeling, and also pretty incomprehensible. Because it´s not an emotion we feel in any other context really. It´s also not a very defined one, it´s neither sadness, wonder, awe, yet at the same time is all of them.

Whenever I played it, walking round the space stations, spending credits in the store, buying new armour, I’d get lost in it. The music was similar to this. Futuristic cyber-like. Anytime I hear this now it triggers me memories of PSO and it takes me back to being a kid again, lost for hours in front of my TV, not a car win the world and fully engrossed in the game. Amazing piece of music, keep them coming ❤

I was 20 when BLADE RUNNER came out. I was blown away. 2049 seemed like blasphemy until I watched again and again, and I realized how deep. It made me connect both movies in a much much deeper level. We’ve become the AI, they became human, with more compassion than us. It made 2019 seem exactly like 2019. In the case of 2049, when they wrote it, lightening struck!

This is so unique and poignant. I really love ambient music in general, but I don't think any of it has moved me as emotionally as this does. There's touches of loneliness, alienation, patience and so much more that its hard to pin down. It's strong enough that I can close my eyes and feel it move across my skin when i'm tired.

After that it seemed boring… But now at 52 my life, this crazy world and its sickness has me meditating as i appreciate the non action scenes bcoz they relate to my life above and beyond… This movie is STILL decades ahead of its time!!!

Very well done! I saw Blade Runner when first released. The theater had a very modern sound system for its time. You have expertly captured the what I remember hearing over 40 years ago! I am using some very nice Avantree noise canceling headphones. They work like ones costing hundreds of dollars. I feel like I'm in my seat in the theater. You have expert skills. It is a shame Vangelis has passed away. I feel that he would have commended you on paying tribute to his genius score. I wish you future success. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

I saw this movie on a plane but I had not slept for two days. I remember nothing except the unbearable beauty of the music and visuals. I still have no idea what happens in it. Recently I had a field course in the outback. Absolute middle of nowhere. Mundi Mundi plain. It was the most beautiful place I have ever been. I think the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. And there was a tree by a shed that felt so familiar And I realise now it's because it looked so much like a scene I can remember from this movie. The whole place was so beautiful. It was unreal.
