Yep, it was well rehearsed I am sure. They were, no doubt, told very specifically, "Now remember there are cameras up there so when you enter the capsule they will line up around the door and then when you enter each one of you will hug and smile with each of the occupants." @@sparrow56able Well it is milestone for a few reasons: 1 - another crewed flight - that in itself considering how many years we went without US spaceflight capabilities is a big deal. 2 - This flight docked with the ISS when another Dragon was docked - it shows that spaceflight is becoming more frequent. 3 - The Crew-2 mission flew on a reused booster - that in itself is almost bigger than SpaceX's first crewed flight last year. NASA resisted for a while doing this, but now SpaceX has shown you can get people to space while reusing hardware. This has large implications for the future of human spaceflight, including decreasing costs and shorter time between missions. This mission also shows in a way that space is starting to get more crowded - we need more space stations! We have a better way to get up there now, and many companies are drawing up space station designs, while others are coming up with tons of things to do there. The coming years will be amazing for human spaceflight. This mission was just another step.

Milestone should be very important achievement, that affects everybody, not just certain interested parties (in our case Nasa, SpaceX and their partners!) @@Summon256 A milestone, by definition, is a marker indicating progress. In that sense, this is. Reusability is bringing down the cost of a spaceflight. SpaceX gaining experience on this missions will give them the knowhow to bring people to the Moon in 2024.

This at meets earlier short-term capacities. Space Shuttle (2001-2011) could carry 7 people, and each Soyuz vehicle could carry 3 people. So a maximum of 13 people (when 2 Soyuz docked), during a Shuttle visit (~10 days) for crew exchange was possible. However, the last shuttle flights had less crew (4) to maximize payload deliveries to ISS.
