SpaceX Crew-5 recovery operations and astronauts egress

The crew of the “Endurance” Crew Dragon spacecraft for the Crew-5 mission to the International Space Station, NASA astronauts Nicole Aunapu Mann and Josh Cassada, JAXA astronaut Koichi Wakata and Roscosmos cosmonaut Anna Kikina, was successfully recovered after splashing down off the coast of Florida on 12 March 2023, at 02:02 UTC (11 March, at 21:02 EST).

OK, the Space Shuttle landing already was a great achievement, nearly like a normal plane, but only feasible on Earth, which has an infrastructure including airfields for this. But in order to conquer other celestial bodies, which have no landing strips, sort of capsules or ships without wheels are necessary.

HAve always been curious how hard it actually is to actually clean that Dragon Capsule cause can see how much damage it actually gets from re entry but have to admit whoever Does the cleaning of it always makes it look just like Brand new. Saw how they actually slid the crew members out of the dragon, and if correct they do that because its just like when the astronauts came home on the Soyuz capsule, once they arrive back on Earth, they have to get used to again to Earth's gravity so its actually a little hard for the to walk and that is the main reason why when they are removed from the dragon they have to be slid out like that, right????

All that incredible technology - mind blowing really and they can't think of a better way to egress the capsule. The soyuz touchdown circus was almost comical.

@@darbuc7198 I think they try to keep it simple for now so they can keep the weight of the capsule down, but I see what you're saying there. It is kinda funny to have such a primitive system on a high tech vehicle. You'd think maybe some kind of conveyor belt. 🤔
