Falcon Heavy was the first launch I saw live. At the time of the mission I was not very into space, and I drew a really derpy picture. The only parts I got right on the picture were the center core and transporter erector, otherwise, I slapped some SRBs on the sides and placed an ATC tower right next to the pad... :|
@jesse_the_meaney4 жыл бұрын
@@yacinesenouci6680 yes i get that... the first launch i watched live was CRS 16 and it was pretty funny. it started spinning, and then landed on WATER. at the time I also wasn't into space, so i just kept watching these landings fail (remember, this was before SpaceX made its 2nd landing). when Falcon Heavy launched, i was impressed, because we've only seen 5 landings so far. when we saw TWO boosters land AT THE SAME TIME it was like - wtf how... and then we drove back home and on the way we passed LZ1 and LZ2 and it was just - impressive. its one thing to land a single booster on a ship, its another thing to land two boosters back on land on landing pads right next to each other at the same time. can't wait when they add cameras on the boosters that look at each other! then we could see the way the booster acts in detail on its way down!

Because this is suppose to be a simulation I would like to point out that the center core used aluminium grid fins and not the titanium ones. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the rocket comes from the SpaceX mod but I think those landing legs are from Kerbalized SpaceX missing the litle (clamping?) triangles on their sides.

Slight correction; The Energia rocket was also more powerful than the Falcon Heavy, lifting Buran and Polyus into orbit. The Buran weighing in at 76 tonnes and Polyus at 80+ tonnes. Energia was rated to lift up to 96 tonnes into LEO.
@MarcusHouse6 жыл бұрын
Hmm... that would make this statement a little miss-leading. www.spacex.com/falcon-heavy "Only the Saturn V moon rocket, last flown in 1973, delivered more payload to orbit."
@liquidhype30256 жыл бұрын
Well then they are wrong. Energia launched twice, once in 1987 with Polyus and once in 1988 with the soviet space shuttle Buran, both of which weighed a lot more than the 63.4 tonnes Falcon Heavy can launch in its fully expendable configuration.
