@Al that's just upsetting and enraging to some of us when you say that to an Australian. It's become something that some people will just get violent over when foreigners say that to them. We don't have "shrimp" here. It's just called prawns and most of the time we don'treally grill or BBQ them unless they're "green" (raw) with shell on . We've heard that enough and are sick of it. We even ran advertisements that I believe ran worldwide sometime in the 2010's to correct that phrase. Paul hogan did that as a campaign stunt for Americans to visit Australia for tourism. It was effective due to his status as a movie star with crocodile Dundee, making him famous worldwide and Americans back then being uncultured and not really travelling outside of the states for holidays.

as someone who originally bought the game when he was 11, and played for 2 years along with Minecraft exclusively, this man has improved since his earlier videos, and impressed me. he has gotten past the "normie KSP let's play" phase, and is actually building functioning vehicles, which when this is literally rocket science, is impressive just to take off and land in an in-air plane! I am not sure if he got there on his own, or watched a tutorial, but he done did a good job whatever the case may be. a few mistakes are made on occasion, but as a rule of thumb, RCE, if you want something to attach to the side of a vehicle (like wings or landing gear), aim the cursor on the vehicle where you want it to go, if you want it to attach to one of those attachment points (like a nose cone), aim your camera to the side, and with the part grabbed, position it correctly, and move it close to the green circle (or the gray cylinder in KSP2), and click when it snaps. also, I saw you had snapping on while applying landing gear to your wings, using the move tool will work, especially if you have it set to local, but snapping works weird with some parts, primarily most if not all wings, sometimes on fuselages it won't work either, but that is a rare example. when trying to place anything on a wing, you should always turn off snapping, unless you want it on the center line of the wingtip, even struts as the inside of the wing will catch the strut's other end. I will edit/reply to this if I figure out what the third thing I wanted to say was... (I just realized this vid is 1 year old lol)

If you select the button just left of the colour button and double click a part the camera will focus on that part. However there is a bug where trying to move a part does nothing so you have to click on the button left of the last button I told you about (the one left of the colour button) and then click on the button at the far left of that toolbar, from my experience this usually helps. You can also double click any part when flying to focus on it.

ehy RCE, just a heads up, the rear wheels needs to be a smidge foreward of the center of lift to be able to use them as pivoting points for rotation, that's any kind mechanical pitch that relies on the gemetry of the plane rather than sheer power from the engines. AND, more importantly, ideally planes should have both center of mass and lift in the same point, that's why they have fuel pumps that move fuel around to balance the craft, but in KSP you want you lift right behind the center of mass. Remember, a plane with a center of lift behing the center of mass flies bad, a plane with the center of mass behind the center of lift fliues once.

16:06 don’t think anyone mentioned this yet, but there is a known issue where multiple engines pulling fuel from the same fuel source causes major FPS loss. So, 40 engines on the single fuel tank row in the middle is what’s causing the FPS drop. You can fix it by having a single fuel source for each engine.

The reason the wings bent so much is because they were too long. The supports didn’t have the strength to stop the torque from the end of the wings being so far away. You then made is far worse by putting a ton of power on the weak wings. If you want it to work, you will need to phase fewer engines and place them closer to the fuselage as well as using struts to make the wings stronger.

Can't you go wider still by attaching a chain of parts to a part in hangar? Spawn wing 1, as wide as possible so you can connect another. Spawn wing 2 and attach it to wing one, just inside frame like you did in the video. You now have one large wing, let's call it wing 1,2. Spawn wing 3, attach it to plane. Detach wing 1,2 from plane and put it to wing 3. You now have wing 3,1,2. Spawn wing 4, attach it to plane. Detach wing 3,1,2 from plane and put it and the end of wing 4. You now have wing 4, wing 3, wing 1 and wing 2 attached to the plane in that order. Keep spawning wings and attach the whole wingchain to the new pieces untill your computer breaks.

RCE pleaseee look up how to pan the VAB camera, with knowing that your potential will skyrocket, usually it’s just one button while you rotate will make it pan instead!

11:44 you can middle click a part to focus it. You can also hold middle click to pan.

Hey RCE, the Wright brothers' first flight at Kitty Hawk only lasted 12 seconds. So you are definitely flying 21:40

You can change the center of rotation of the camera in the VAB by Middle Mouse on the part you want to center also there are specific Methane Fuel Tanks where you get more Fuel per Tank while not needing to care about the oxidizer

Put your com in front of coa. Moving coa back increases stability. With how that was responding you'll probably want to go just behind the center of the ball, almost at center

a crazy idea - it might work or it might not work, can you try to attach the left to the right wing without a central body of the plain, make them connected to eachother and then add the central body - either clipping in or bellow them? this way the center of mass shouldnt interfere with the flapping

Center of mass is simulated in a realistic way, there is no way to 'cheese it' as far as I'm aware.

@@heygek2769 my logic isn't to cheat it rather than to make the win connection on top of it weather than on the sides where it connects to the body. Like real airplanes they don't have left or right wing, they have one big one and attach the fuselage to it

4:10 wow this is basically a flying wing (if you delete the center plane) 10:29 Tip: while trying to attach the part press "Alt" to force it to that node

Watching RCE say he isn't making a fighter jet and wants more of a commercial airline, while still having a fighter jet body-shape, makes me hurt inside. The tail should be higher with its prongs up top for a wide wing-jet shape. It adds stability. Where a lower tail prong and straighter body with smaller wings and a more front-back engine allows for speed and aerodynamics.

I know you could make space stations in KSP 2, but could you engineer a Dyson Sphere or any similarly difficult things like a colony ship?

I think you need to do a rotating strongest shape. A helicopter as sorts, spinning fast enough with wings to go take off

Someone hasn't seen an airplane before :p Ailerons and flaps in the main wing swing DOWN to increase lift during take off, the Elevators in the tail pull up. This plane had no tail, and the ailerons are swinging backwards.
