New Landing legs in the Falcon 9 Style for the Spacex Starship.
Many ideas about the landing legs go through the internet.
Elon Musk had said some time ago, the landing legs of the Starships will look so similar to the Falcon9.
Here is an idea like you could really look.
Spacex Deimos and Phobos. Is the conversion of an oil rig to a spaceport possible in one year?
The two former oil drilling islands that are now called Deimos and Phobos should be rebuilt into space ports.
Now one of the oil drill islands should be rebuilt by the end of the year. Is that possible?

The problem with legs that fold down, like on F9, is that three of starship's legs would need to be covered with thermal tiles for reentry. So when the legs fold down, the delicate tiles on the ends of the legs would be pressed against the ground.

Another problem would be the fins getting in the way, currently we see the bottom fins fold in during the whole landing, so the falcon 9 style legs would get in the way

Nice animation video of Starship leg systems. They stick the landing with SN15. New legs will be placed on SN15. To save money they will wait to implement the Falcon9 legs. But Falcon9 equivalent legs are necessary for the near future. SpaceX fan from Europe.

I think we will see new landing systems soon. Sn20 could already be tested with it. is just an assumption.

I'd update the thumbnail a bit. 1:52 seems ideal. I think a lot of people wanted to see Starship with Falcon legs. You did it!

And yet, the present legs have worked well on a prepared pad. The problems I see are the well-noted problem of landing on unprepared surfaces and the ability to remain stable in a strong crosswind.

Falcon legs have the problem that they can't be folded back easily aldo learning from the mistakes of falcon 9 that problem could be solved. But what coudn't be solved woud be that they wouldn't be able to auto level without sliding and folding the legs, which would need to be done on a mount or atacth to a crane, and then lowering the starship to the ground woud be very very difficult on mars

Great rendition. With Elon's obvious affinity for hexagons, I would expect him to favour the six leg option. He may just hop them on board as a transport option for a fully reusable spaceship. He could develop tech to turn seawater into fuel on board as a developmental experiment for Mars. Should also harness solar, wind, wave and tidal energy for power.

I believe this solution gonna be similar to the final SpaceX designs. On the ends of the legs that gonna be pressed against the ground, they might opt for some high strength alloy that could handle the reentry heat.

Why won‘t they use non-retractable legs that sit tightly on the outside of super heavy during lift off? No problems with one leg not working properly and no folding back the legs after it lands 🤔 parts that don’t have to move are the best parts

Six or four Falcon9 style legs would add far too much weight to the craft. Starship designers will innovate the present design down to a lighter and even simpler form. Best guess.

enjoyable the legs? Got some thoughts on that which is really different from what's been put out there. Seems to be unnecessary weight involved when a simple design is needed. Elon should do a competition for none engineers. Found engineers overthink things.

@@Spacex3DCreationEccentric He wasn't so sure about flame trenches on Boca Chica, this is an over water launch, you don't need to divert the flames to protect water. Actually the water recieving the flames is safer..
@Spacex3DCreationEccentric
@Spacex3DCreationEccentric 3 жыл бұрын
@@djkamilo66 if we look at other sea launch projects, flame trenches are also used there, and with much weaker missile systems. If you look at the physical properties of water (on the surface), water behaves like concrete when objects, particles, etc. hit it at high speed.
