I made Roger Wilco pin on buttons years ago when I worked menial labor. One with him pushing a vacuum and one of the vacuum itself from SQ6. I remember during the whole 5 years I had those pinned to my work uniform that only one random person I ran into knew who Roger Wilco was while I was on the job; that was a good day.

It got trickier as the series went on, but I did manage to cover all of the games in under 10 minutes. Apart from SQ6, which is *just over* 10 minutes (10:13), and that's only because I mention the fan games at the end.

This is still one of my favourite Sierra Adventure games ever, despite the archaic nature of it, and I prefer it over the VGA version. Mostly because I didn't like what they did with Kerona. In the original, it's this yellow desert planet with lots of cliffs, and it was really charming and beautiful. In VGA however, it's pitch-red and you walk on a huge skeleton. It just kind of took away a lot of the charm. But that doesn't matter, the point is that I love the AGI version of it, and it's my second favourite of the bunch!
@spacequesthistorian3 жыл бұрын
The VGA version was also made behind The Two Guys' backs, and Scott Murphy is still very bitter about that.
@Stratelier17 күн бұрын
I agree that the color shift from yellow to red was ... not "bad" in and of itself, but obviously a huge contrast to the original.
@Stratelier17 күн бұрын
Probably one of my favorite parts of SQ1 comes from its VGA remake where, if you failed to keep the data cartridge with you (while otherwise finishing the game), during the ending ceremony the NPC will remark that the plans are basically lost now, but "oh well, you're only a janitor."

I knew that about the flatulence wordplay, and I didn't even speak intermediate english back then. But it took me a long time to find out the Blues Brothers were no singers, just actors. All their best known songs are covers of classics, and they were called Blues because those were their last names in the movie.

I don't know why but I didn't realise you could kill both the spider droid and Orat in the cave in the original release. I thought it was added as an alternative solution in the VGA remake (like how they added the magnet to cheat at the slot machine)

I remember I got stuck in this game because I couldn't pick up the translator in the Arcada. I saw it was there in the closet, but I couldn't figure out what word to use. I think it's officially a TRANSLATOR GADGET but neither word came to me as a kid while playing. Luckily my parents bought me one of those nice "strategy" books in which you could reveal the answers to only the select parts that you needed, by using a special highlighting pen. I really wanted to figure out the rest on my own.
@jeremygeorgia49432 ай бұрын
You can haggle for the jetpack price. If you decline the initial offer, the alien will come back with a better offer. You can decline him twice. The third time, he will come back with his final offer, and he's serious. After that, he will go back to his original price, and he won't negotiate. Also, the slot machine doesn't explode, until you have accumulated enough to buy the spaceship and the droid. So, even though it doesn't matter, you can buy the droid first. Then you can earn a bit more from the slot machine. Then you can buy the ship. You can then win the maximum amount possible, before the machine explodes. You lose the money on the Deltaur, but it's nice to carry money around, anyway. As a general strategy, betting the lowest amount gives you the best odds of keeping what you earn. When you get above $20, you can start betting more. It's not to hard to figure out the ideal ratio, before increasing your bet. Basically, you want to be able to make more than one bet before losing your money. Increase your bet, when you have twice the bet amount or more. You can cheat, too if you wish. The three skulls are a bit unfair & cheating on the other side, anyway.

@spacequesthistorian5 ай бұрын
Ah, yeah... The code is on the cartridge, and if you never got that (perhaps by not going back into the datacart library and having the encounter with the scientist), then you have no idea where you're even supposed to find it. In hindsight, having the scientist dude show up after you've already been in the room once is kind of a dick move.

Depending on the version, you can get 205, 207, or 254 points. It involves getting the emergency kit twice; traveling in the trunk and then entering the vent system; and getting the second grenade. 254 points is via a bug where you keep shooting Sariens and losing points past zero.

@@spacequesthistorian This mix is actually pretty cool. Not all songs/mixes are gonna be the best but I will say this is better than those old crappy mixes I made back on Ejay software. @@xRocketzFighterx Thank you! I pretty much wrote them to teach myself to play bass.
