Who else but the Spa Guy brings this much passion to tell the story of Elvis Presley? He will knock on any door, and go anywhere to tell this story. I LOVE this video because it's filled the humanity and insecurity of a young person who first summons the will to reach out for their dream. And even more so, the tremendous gift of being believed in. Would Elvis have ever made a record without Ed Leake pressing him to go to Memphis Recording Studio, and even accompanying him and loaning him the money to make the record? There is no joy like beginning. THANK YOU Spa Guy for this great story about dreams, friendship and the gift of being Believed in!

Thank You Laura, When I started finding these stories not to be true I was baffled.. There is a widely accepted and told narrative that is in many books and even still told by people who were there and most of it is not true.. I often wonder if the Colonel created the narrative to be part of the Elvis Mystique to make it more like a fairytale..

@@SpaGuy i knew i wasn't the only one with that thinking. i have far more thoughts then just parker. i believe Elvis was a distraction we needed. and became better than thought. so he was hilighted as a what....cashcow.... he was enabled to become a drug abused person. knowing he'd kill himself. money still coming. his life was controlled by us. we killed him yet stilllove him cause he is generating money. he'll never die til this world of people feel we need another distraction. ... jus a thought. @@r.d.g.7877 I do not ever believe Elvis would take his own life. He loved God and he knew God would not like that. It’s the only reason I get irritated with Priscilla. She says he knew what he was doing. And ODed on purpose. I still don’t think he did anything that night planned. I think Elvis had medical issues that day. But in desperation to get rest he grabbed that stuff he was allergic to. He was so nervous cause he had his tour coming up. He couldn’t sleep maybe having vowel issues. God rest his soul!

Didn't know these facts at all! I have a CD album set called, I think, Elvis Presley's Greatest Hits that I bought in about 1991, and I believe "My Happiness" is on it! I'll have to find them. I had no idea that they were released so late, I thought that Elvis had it released when he was a young man. Blows my mind a little. And "That's When Your Heartaches Begin" is one of my favorites by him, I have many! I have heard the original to that song also but I don't believe that I have it. But the history details are very interesting, it allows a much more complete picture to be painted about his life and career, thank you!

Another interesting thing that I found out a little later in life was the Christmas album from I think the early 70s, which I grew up on and we played for many years, had the picture of him in his blue jacket with the vertical white stripes, I thought for years that it was a snow ski jacket and that he was on a snowy mountain somewhere in Tennessee.

Mindblowing. I'm guessing you're right and Elvis wouldn't have thought those recordings were up to much. Cutting that record with 2 sides would have been the only way he had of finding out what he sounded like. Singing is one thing listening to yourself is another. You learn all kinds of things listening to yourself. Things you like things you can improve on. Elvis was still learning and what you hear is the potential on those recordings.
