Hopefully the weather people will note high altitude cold air approaching low altitude warm air and develop a better system to forecast the intensity of a coming dana. I was so surprised to hear the turmoil due to the heavy rain. I also learned of Castellon de la Plana from this KZbin Channel as a potential place to return. I read where it was affected as well? Sad and such a beautiful city. I have the best memories of my life living there, returning several times. Even during Franco's regime, I enjoyed it. Re pub meals, the person was talking about chains and he’s no doubt right. However there are thousands of pubs in the UK which are not part of a chain and some serve extremely good food, at a price of course often. Local pubs are under threat since the pandemic so some have upped the quality of their food offering to attract custom. Some, sadly, are more like restaurants because of the challenges they face nowadays

Considering the dana effects, considering the national help valencia will now need, is the catalans community reconsidering their demands for financial separation. With their mediterranean coastline producing warm air and the inability to control cold air in the higher atmosphere just maybe they ought to keep their financial ties to spain intact just for national emergencies.

I'm in the hills around Granada, and used to Autumn weather with heavy rain and the resulting landslides and rock falls. However, I've never seen storms like we had these past few days. The rain was biblical, and almost continuous thunderstorms for 48 hours. Terrible. Some of the villages lower down the valley have flooded but most of the water has drained into the nearby reservoir. No lives lost, either, but still dreadful for those affected. I fear the death toll will rise as rescue workers get access to places.

Idk about the “menú del día”. As a Spaniard that had to eat it on a daily basis for work reasons I got thoroughly tired of any combination, any restaurant, Spanish food or others and any homemade meal (“comida casera”) option they offered (their home meals perhaps not mine 😂). There are certain odors on some on such places that only smelling them makes sick 😂. I can eat a menu del dia and some are quite good, or a montaditos or whatever, but each then and a while.Idk what it is I become so sensitive to they do on those kitchens that we don’t do at home but it makes me sick if I have to eat out too often. On the other hand, my pub experience in the Midlands was very good. Loved the food. Ok, it was a novelty, not enough time to get tired of it, and those wonderful, marvelous, delicious ales perhaps have something to do with the smile I have with the memory 😂.
