i am a californian but grew up in ireland. the younger generations cant afford to own a home and its infrastructure is not keeping up with its growth. its often been referred to as ‘the rip off republic’ spain and other countries very appealing for retirement and yes australia and the orient for the younger crowd.

Hi stu. A day late catching up. Rather than brushing the mud into the sewers, homeowners should’ve just piled it up on the side. Homeowners would have to be alerted on the emergency system on what to do and not do. Rain would take some into the drain at a natural rate. Then ask individuals with vans and pickups to pick it up and cart it off for payment per job. Saves the city and puts some money into industrious individuals’ pockets. Homeowners call the city, city sends someone and who is paid per pickup. It would all be part of the cleanup costs.

Hi Stu. Jimeoin is very funny and still going strong. His is doing a UK tour in 2025. The southern Irish economy is booming in specific sectors such as software development but young people can’t afford accommodation. In the north, accommodation is marginally more affordable but there are less opportunities. But you’re right, young Irish people have always been drawn to Australia. I put it down to the weather, the outdoor lifestyle and the laid back attitude which they can associate with. They also seem to love those giant rabbits with the long tails that hop around everywhere…
