@@raycaruso8026 You can make anything a meal, you don't have to have a hunk of meat or bread next to it for it to be a meal. Peppers, onion garlic and potatoes is a meal, but of course as long as it's not EVERY meal. You don't have to have all food groups every time you eat, you can do it throughout the day. Eating meat, carbs, potatoes, real veggies, fruits, etc for every meal would just make you sick. Great video, Chef. I have been making this dish for many years, as my waistline can testify. I tend to add some smokey bacon to the recipe, as it gives it a more interesting taste. Being a Welshman, I guess my recipe is Welsh potatoes. 😁

It is a poor man's dish because the ingredients are cheap as fuck. That doesn't mean it isn't good, or couldn't be offered in a high end restaurant. Some of the best dishes out there are comfort foods re-imagined as high end dishes, and can and are offered in high end restaurants. French cuisine, which is considered high end, basically invented the idea of offering traditional country dishes and offering them as expensive dishes. In truth, the greatest chefs do elevate country dishes to haute cuisine status, but the basic ingredients remain the same.

@@TheCrazyNette I can just tell you the way i personally cook it. As Onion and garlic are already used in this dish, i just take the chopped onion and crush the garlic into paste and Saute it in Little Oil. In that same Mixture i Put some Turmeric Powder, Corriander seeds Powder,Some cummin seeds and Some Red Chilli Powder as per taste. And then some water in that mixture as reqirement. And Put the Boiled patatoes in it for 10-15min on a low flame. Potato Dish with gravy ready . Fresh Green Corriander leaves on that serving would be great, if you can get it. We in India mostly eat Chapati(Whole wheat flat bread, Non fermented dough), and Rice, so its Good with it.
