You are welcome, you will be hard pressed to find one cheaper with the same quality, anti freeze, metal bit for drain hole, and blocks if you live in a windy place and you got a pretty top of the line goal with a cheap price, Amazon does now have basketball returns for $30 that will fit this goal, appreciate the love,

Man this is a great review!!! Thanks for all the info and this follow up video. It sounds like the rim makes a loud rattling noise when the ball hits it, how does it sound in person. Also did you do anything special to get the vertical poles to fit together easier when assembling it? I read someone used wd-40 to get the poles to fit together easier. Thanks again and especially for the price it seems like this is the hoop to get!

I have 2 Spalding basketball hoops. Both are 54 inch Acrylic and Polycarbonate. Had the Acrylic one for almost 2 years and I had the Polycarbonate one about a month. But the acrylic one I have in the my backyard cost almost $400 and the polycarbonate one I have cost $180. I be playing with the polycarbonate one in my front yard but I be playing with the acrylic one in my backyard but I stopped playing with it for now because my rim got bent from the snow storm a month ago but i got a new rim. This is my 3rd rim I had to replace because when I first got it the one that came with the hoop got knocked over last time from the tornado last year and I had to put another rim and the same thing happened over a month ago from the wind from the snow storm. The rim I got right now is a Spalding arena slam rim. I haven’t put it up yet but I will put it together soon.

Yo bro you need to consider upgrading and getting the mega slam hoop because I can tell you right now those are as real as it gets that is if you want to spend the extra money to have a nicer hoop not to mention the rim breaks away 180 degrees and it is the same design Rim as what they would use in college, so just food for thought but hey keep it 💯 and keep hoopin my dude!

saw this video was posted 3 years ago. thinking about buying this goal as it is available now at my local Walmart. just wondering how the goal has held up. my 2 sons who are are 6 and 8 love basketball. and just want something that will last other than in ground goal. the neighbors 20 year old plus portable goal backboard finally broke. so it is time to get my own.

@@WeightBully thanks. great video you did. didn't know if these new angled poles would have been better or not versus the straight vertical pole like the one in the video. but after knowing your hoop had been going strong after all this time, would be foolish not to try it out for myself instead of spending 500+ on a portable hoop for maybe just a minute improvement in quality.

Years later still going strong, if you plan to dunk on it doint hang and put a brick under the pole it will keep it from bending at all, my friend replaced his bas with a metal sheet he did it to put a lot of bricks on it and it worked out nicely,

Not specific anything I have in hand just used engine ice in my punching bag no issues, the base has now had it for years and still has not come close to freezing and cracking hoop out all year every year

Is the rim far enough from base to not trip on layups, etc. Was strongly considering Silverback or Spalding Hybrid and now see your helpful video.

Hangs out like a little shorter then an NBA goal you will not trip as you can walk under the goal backboard, not like a regular portable goal.

Only layers it down 1x and a tornado, been out in high winds with the blocks on the back no issue also have anti freeze for cold months

With just water and anti freeze is that enough to support it? Or should I put sand bags on top of it all as well?

We have super high winds I used blocks they are cheap and do not weather, if you do not have to deal with winds then no you doint need them, sand bags are fine but will weather over time, sand inside is tooo heavy to move around

Appreciate the video. It sealed my decision on purchase for my 14,11, and 7 yr. olds. Question, when tightening bolts that mount goal to base did you torque them till they couldn't turn anymore or just tight? Don't want to strip out.Also same questions on pole support bracket bolts. Thanks

The are hand tight then a 3/4 turn is you are putting force in then it's too much, doint worry Spalding support is great any thing you break on install they will send out a replacement

to be honest I am a powerlifter dead 600s still get help on grass, not because its heavy but it will tear up grass when full, You could easily move it on concrete though, grass I would get help if its full, definitely better built so yeah man its heavy

way after the fact, i hope you check your YT. your other video convinced me to get this goal for my boys. we just put it together today. During assembly, we put the spring with a bolt to the back plate and rim and the rim 'broke away' when i tested it. after putting the angled plate on and screwing it in, the rim doesnt feel like a break away anymore. im afraid we will break it if my son dunks on it and snaps the rim down like he does in a gym. Am i wrong? 99% we put it together correctly. thank you very much.

Usually that means you may have the spring too tight. If the spring is tight it will not function as a a break away. Your son may dunk on it but it's not made to be hung on and if he does it could tip. Recommend him to be safe #1 and make the goal last by checking the bolts also.

Is it pretty easy to move around when removing all of the anchor weight? I'm wanting to have it in the driveway, but when it gets cold move to side of house. Thoughts on its mobility? And have you broken one of those windows yet? Lol

It can be moved is a two person job, no need to winterize it since I put anti freeze in the base, so I play year round like a inground, on video it may look close it's not and most of all I can shoot my misses are soft rebound not air balls, as a matter of fact I have only bounced of the window 2x the whole time I have owned this goal,

Did you put it all the way up to the top last 2 holes. So you could lift it. You know how theres 4. Did you put it on the top 2

I just bought this goal and I'm having problems assembling it I can't get the 3 poles to connect

Look at the diagram, connect the first two poles ladder and a 2x4 or bigger and a heavy weight to drive them together. Then same for the final pole, I have seen ppl also put the board between a car and wall then idle the pole but it is very risky that way

if its nearly all the way down on the pole its at or close to 10 feet, I measured mines and put tape around the bottom to indicate the heights

I have been looking for a good Sturdy goal for my son to grow up with. Is the square pole hard to put together I have seen that on a lot or reviews. Was this an issue for you my brother?

Nope it was easy, it may have been hard for them as they didnt have what's needed to get them to mate, You just need a block of wood and a solid 55-80lbs weight, drive the first one on grass the get a ladder carry it up have some one hold it and drive the last one, I did it alone, it's worth it the goal is worth more, let me know if you need help you wont be sorry,

My sister son comes over ALL the time he is 6, slightly taller then most 6 yr old but he started o. The lowest setting 6-7 months later he is shooting on the 10 foot and is making the shots close in, very proud of him my sons where a little older but it def helped them as well they just prefer boxing a little sad about that but hey I really bought it for me anyway, yes he will be fine and can grow with the hoop since it adjust so much,

Do you mean the cranks or the pole? Re check your diagram there is something you did not put right, also call the Spalding hotline they can walk you though it,

@@Wissler22 if that is frozen it may be damaged not uncomm but rare try and use a thin screwdriver to turn it, if it turns its still good if not consult with spalinding they will over night the replacement part,

@@Wissler22 always can do what we did and that's go get a steal flat panel and have it drilled add longer screws and its unbeatable, we placed blocks on top solid in super high winds, glade u liked it 👍🏾

@@WeightBully ok i was able to snatch this up out of luck since they've been sold out anywhere, im done with assembly everything is functioning except height adjustment. i feel zero resistance cranking up or down , it just stays at lowest height. defective unit or i missed something?

@@623baller check the top and make sure the screw are through the metal adjustment if not the pole will not move up and down, if so you could have a defective unit call Spalding they will send a replacement asap
