I saw the Doors several times at the Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood back in the 60s. I think at one time they were the house band. When my son grew up, in the 90s, he told me that Robby Krieger was his favorite guitarist. A few months later I saw that Robby was going to be playing in my town. So I got tickets and took my son. He was bowled over by the concert and we went back stage to see if we could talk to him. He was so nice and gracious and took the time out to talk to my son about playing guitar. He really encouraged him. Robby is so talented and such a great guy.

Hail Robby, for also being the greatest player and a special gratitude to him for we men have drank and made love to beautiful women as his notes from "the end, the doors poetry album" rang out & filled our minds and the room, as women screamed with bliss... And when morning arose and the hangover hit like a 300 pound gorilla sitting on your head, and not remembering baby dolls name, we yearned for more. Robby, I remember the first time I smoked hash, I got into my bed with my headphones on and listened to Spanish Caravan, and I was blown away. Loved the Flamenco solo and the electric guitar solo and effects I remember Jim's last refrain at the very end of the song, "Take Me, Spanish Caravan, yes I know you can", and then some really weird echo/delay from the instruments as the song faded out. Truly psychedelic!!! Definitely one of my favorite Doors songs of all time. You ARE the Maestro!

Why? Even bad drummers SHOULD be able to listen to a song a few times max and have it, it’s not like it would be some buddy rich shit. We’re talking mostly 4/4 rock stuff. Don’t even need to know any chords to play drums. Of course there are some people out there with zero rhythm who couldn’t find a beat to save their lives. You known those people, they usually look like old white people tryin to get down to some good gospel music.

I loved listening to this, and I'm not even learning to play. 🤪 Just to hear that guitar, how beautiful this song is, it never gets old to me. Every time I hear it, it's like the first time. It strikes, in me, such a literal breathtaking, to the sound, to the flow, like something truly beautiful, when experienced, should.

Hello, dear Robbie You are one of the best guitarists I've seen. I've been listening to the Doors since I was young, even though I was born in 1974, and when you held a concert in America, I wasn't born yet, but I get a good feeling from your music, and alas, Jim Morrison I live in Iran, but your videos are goneI see you on KZbin. I hope you are always healthy and happy Indeed, this Ramirez guitar that you play with it looks very old and interesting👋😎

This is priceless! When I started to learn guitar many years ago I always wanted to play this but at that time I only had the recordings to learn it by ear so it was very difficult for me. I never could imagine that some day I could watch a lesson made by Robbie himself!

Very generous of him to show us his tunes, I have many favourite bands and I wish some of their players would show theirs, although some are dead. Robby is in the top 10 best guitar players ever. He’s up there with Bert Jansch, Hendrix, Keith Richards, Tony Iommi, Segovia and others.

@@sergioiniguezdiaz5677 I see alot of resemblance to Paco Peña's Granadinas. Not that there isnt something original about about Spanish Caravan. Paco Peña does the same thing borrowing from Sabicas. Surely Sabicas did that too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGTEZYVuopWSesk

@@gabrielgarza8283 yeeep bc that Granadinas ara based on John Williams music based on Isaac Albéniz music! But yeah Paco and Sabica ara both two genius of music and the guitar.

@@sergioiniguezdiaz5677 Granadinas has very little in common with Asturias. The peice Asturias may not be entirely original. That is to say Albeniz probably stole the main idea from spanish folk music.

I actually know what he’s talking about. I’ve experienced that feeling he’s saying. Some chord progressions just seem to work better when done at a much faster speed or bpm. It’s kind of strange, but it’s real, even for average players. It’s just certain structures seem to need speed to keep up. Whereas it’s visa versa on other progressions.

Its because once you learn them, and start always playing them at speed you just end up using muscle memory, and not thinking about timing or finger placement. To then play it slow, you have to think about everything you do, and even more so because you are essentially going against the "habit" you have learned.
