Hi i just bought one with the crappy canvas leather interior, but my helm has the German eagle and swastika on its left side do you think it was added afterwards or is it original?

Does The z42 shell have the exact samw form as the m42? (Excluding rivets and vent holes)

ive got an earlier one. its actually quite symmetrical. the only thing really off is the badge bracket. its got steel vent bushings with a mix of brass and silver non ferros rivets. the liners really, really shitty though. the pads are really thin, low quality leather and look to have had some padding stitched to them but theyve completely disintegrated. the band is .5" leather a bit thicker but unstiffened (unlike german m16 liner). the chinstrap is cheap 3/8" with black (rusty) roller buckle.

If you watch re runs of the 60s WW II TV series Garrison's Gorillas you will see on close ups that most of the german helmets used there were spanish modelo z painted in field grey. The insignia bracket at the front is a dead give away. But what the heck, 60s TV audience cant tell the difference right? I bought mine in an antique shop for $100 back in '96 owner said it was a "german" helmet😀 luv ur videos man!

I have the older model with the leather liner, the leather is really cheap and crappy. One thing I noticed is there's no sign of a bracket for the insignia and the front 2 rivets are different, did they make them like that at all? Im wondering of someone messed with it
@DevinK7 жыл бұрын
The Lizard King it very well could have been taken off or made without it

The Spanish Army eagle badge did not come into use until 1943, so it is not impossible that early production of the M42 may not have had the frontal bracket. That being said pretty much all of the helmets of all types had this bracket affixed when the regulation came in, so to find a bracketless survivor would be a rare thing. Then again it might just have been removed at some point.

I bought one "near mint" $100 from a gun collector friend of mine, I noticed something he never did and that is on the liner is a name, Jarces. JARCES YOU OUT THERE?! WHERE DAFUQ ARE YA LAD?! I can't find no info on Jarces. ;-; (Edited the near mint to be in quotations because it's about the same condition yours is but black with some chips n scratches, he just claimed that since it's such good condition he considers it mint, oh that Wild Bill, always finding weird crap like Arisakas with the Emperor's seal still on em'.)

First of all, tell you that I am Spaniard and that I did my military service (01/978-08/1979) wiht the Spanish model Z 1942 helmet. I must also tell you that the Spanish helmet model Z (in its two versions, the model 1942 and the model 1979) was in service in the Spanish Army from 1942 to 1990 and NEVER REPLACED by Spanish versions M1A1 (Spain also manufactured the M1A1 as a model 1965 helmet, but it was for parachute units, for the Marines Corps, the Air Force and the Navy). All these helmets were replaced by the new Spanish MARTE anti-ballistic fiber helmet (1985-2019), since 2019 the MARTE model has been replaced by the new Spanish helmet COBAT-01. OBSERVATIONS: 1) The Spanish helmet model 1926 replaced the Spanish model 1921. 2) The Spanish helmet model Z 1942 replaced the Spanish helmet model 1926. 3) The Spanish helmet model Z 1979 replaced the Spanish helmet model Z 1942. 4) All helmets mentioned were manufactured in Spain with Spanish machinery and are Spanish desing (except the desings of the Z model and the desing of the 1965 model. 5): - Model 1921 helmet it was designed and manufactured by the TRUBIA Spanish company. - Model 1926 it was designed and manufactured by the TRUBIA Spanish company. - Model Z 1942 it was manufactured by the TRUBIA Spanish company. - Model 1965 (M1A1) helmet it was manufactured by the FEDUR Spanish company. - Model Z 1979 it was manufactured by the SANTA BÁRBARA (ancian TRUBIA) Spanish company. - Model MARTE helmet it was designed and manufactured by the INDUYCO Spanish ccompany. - Model COBAT-01 it was designe and is manufactured by the FECSA Spanish company.
