I understand using "a" as a preposition when the object of your transitive verb is a person. What I find much more confusing is the use of "a" in between two verbs like in your first exercise. Why the "a" between voy and llevar? Thanks!
@olehkorenevych55124 жыл бұрын
"voy a" is future tense. Va a salir. - He's going out.
@HolaSpanish4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for asking Greg, I could have mentioned it in the video. The 'a' after the verb 'ir' significa 'to'. Por ejemplo: voy a ir al mercado, means I'm going to go to the market. Prepositions are the hardest part of any language to learn because they don't make sense on their own, they get the meaning based on other words, verbs, etc the follow. I hope this makes a bit more sense now.

I'm still confused. I put the question "what are you afraid of?" Into Google translate and it returned "¿A qué le tienes miedo?" How does the "a" make sense here, and how would I know I need to use one?

cuando A viene con sustantivo en este caso suele ser adverbio y modifica el verbo principal de la oración por ejemplo , él me dio esta noticia a tristeza . Tambien expresa cantidades .él me dio el dinero A espuertas ( a lot of money ) , llovía A cántaros ) (a lot rain )
