I would certainly do it myself, you can usually download the instructions from the towbar manufacturers website, to make sure you are happy that you can do it.

Hi Jodie, you need to scotch lock the wires to the ones which go to one of your rear light clusters, brake light to brake light etc. With one extra wire to the other rear light's indicator so that works too. Its fairly straight forward and there's a couple of writeups online if you google it, hope that helps! If I ever do it again I will be sure to cover it more clearly.

@@SPANNERRASH problem with scotch locks is you never know if they have broken the wire outer. Far better to cut into the original and use connectors

@@robingatward1075 I'm sure what you're describing would be superior, but I've been pretty lucky with scotch locks so far. I do hear people have used with them though so I'll keep an eye on it. I can always rectify it later.

Yes, they add a bit in the middle to change the SWB to MWB. Unless you are looking for one second hand the supplier will confirm the right type.

If you look on Transit forums you will find it seems that there are a number of different wiring colour schemes. Your best bet is to work out which colour goes to each bulb in the light fitting. It's how I did it. Good luck.

I went back to take a look for you. I may put this in a future video. The wiring for mine is Right hand rear light cluster wiring Red Foglight Black/Green Earth Purple/White Brake Light Yellow/Grey Tail Light Green/Orange R/H Indicator Green/Brown Reverse Light Left hand rear light cluster wires used Blue/Brown Tail Light Grey/Orange R/H Indicator You will need to check if it is the same in yours.
