thanks for this great video - just did plugs and coils on my new-to-me 2014 plugin with 147k miles, and the video really helped. Thanks for the clean and concise content

I don't even have a Prius, I have a Honda Civic 2001 but this guy is one of the most gifted and talented individuals on the planet! So I watch whatever he makes. 👍

Great video! I haven't worked on our Prius much at all in 125k miles, but the quote from the dealer for plugs was insane. This helped me tackle the job in about a hour. Thanks a bunch!!

Thanks man! This is a big help. Definitely more involved than changing spark plugs on cars I've had in the past, but since you do it for the first time at 120,000 miles doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

Great video. Just what I needed. Shroud comes off just like a Sienna 2gr FE. Thanks! Now to hunt down that egr cooler video that I knew nothing about until I watched this. Since I'm there...

He didn't have to remove any bodywork just put a flexible joint between the extension and the plug socket.

Are you going to add the oil catch can to your third generation Prius?
@CtrlAltDefeatTV4 жыл бұрын
Possibly. I'll wait and see what my EGR cooler looks like to see if I need it. Right now it burns no oil and I think I can get away with no catch can for now.

Wow seems like alot of reaching around your elbow to get to your butt. Glad I keep my older cars where I open the hood and I can have the old plugs out and new plugs in in 5 min

I have a 2nd generation Prius. You can pull spark plugs out without removing the upper plastic, but it is a tight fit.
@aarongomez43053 жыл бұрын
Yeah but does your old ass car get 50 mpg? Nah.

This does not make sense, you don't have to take anything off the body at all. I just swapped my plugs in a gen 3 with a normal 3/8 drive spark plug socket, a six inch extension and a flexible joint between them in 12 mins flat. I realised when I watched this, was to see how not to do it. Also that "as new" cover on a thoroughly neglected engine is not right. How does this get top position on KZbin?, strange.
