I am running an application to connect to SQL server, it runs for almost 5-6 hrs and then fails with some exception.. SQL Server admin is complaining that connections are not getting closed.. can you please help me understand what could be the reason for that?

Spark is written in Scala. However there is nothing dependent. You can use Spark in Java and Python.
