Sparking! Zero - What if Piccolo defeats Cell and Android 17

This had to be one of the most unnecessary challenges in the game. You had to knock down 17 Health to a certain amount and maintain a certain amount of health for yourself because if you lose two health bars against cell, the time limit is up... also what the hell were they thinking with this time limit BS? They don't even show you an actual time limit, nor do they give you a clear description of what you need to do for the challenges in the game itself. Some of these challenges don't do anything other than just unlock Canon moments that already happened in the anime they're not always what ifs

You can tell they didn't because there's a lot of fights that are like this, you miss one attack or the cpu stuns you once and you will not have enough time to complete the fight

I hated how hard this was, but once I beat it I jumped out of my chair. I found the strategy of: creating distance, charge up to sparking mode and spammmmmming the shit out of the attack button until you can hit the hellzone grenade, rinse and repeat....even then I took about 50 tries. You almost have to get lucky....if you take too much damage against 17 the first time you might as well restart because you pretty much have to be perfect against him.

At least we have Orange Piccolo now. He's one of the most vital Z-Fighters yet faded to the background since this very fight.

After about a dozen tries here’s what I did. Blitz 17 and try to have him switch out ASAP. I’m sure his time factors in how much time u got against cell, so be quick. Have sparking mode ready just as 17 is about to switch and spam him with it so that when the game switches in cell you’re already stomping on him too. Once u knock him back hit him with your ultimate. Immediately start recharging and repeat that same process. If u hear “17 get away from him!” Even if you’re about to hit cell with ur ultimate it’s already too late. The game won’t register u having beat Cell. U might as well retry at that point. And yes I hated this along with the Frieza battle for piccolos story line, took me forever to time everything just right.

Here is the strategy I used for this What If At first, press R1 and deflect all the ki bursts of 17 until it drains its energy bar, move away to the rock behind you and go full into Sparking mode. Kick his ass and use a max an ultimate for this fight. This phase must be very fast. Preferably let him reach 2.5 health bar while it’s away from you so Cell doesn’t spawn near you. Then, as soon as Cell arrives, try to take advantage of the sparking mode chain attacks - ultimate - masenko to beat him in the shortest time possible. Hope this helps, it only took me 3 tries with this strat.

Question. Has anyone else beat cell. Then starting fighting the android again. And then cell storyline comes out of nowhere again and battle stops??? Happen twice and I dont know why.

As in you didn’t complete the mission? It’s because you have to beat cell before piccolos “Run 17” dialogue starts, if you hear him start that dialogue no matter if you beat cell the second he starts, you lost.

I completed it before dat. Cell says his defeated lines. 17 says where were we. We begin to battle. Out of nowhere, piccolo dialogue starts up again. And then cell responds.
