(This is not the recipe used in the video but is one that I love. Our regular line of soaps do not contain palm oil. If you you want a palm free recipe, play around with adding more butters and/or olive oil.)
30% Lye Concentration
6% Super Fat
40% Olive Oil
20% Coconut Oil
10% Palm Oil (I look for Palm that is certified by Palm Done Right)
10% Rice Bran Oil
10% Castor Oil
10% Cocoa Butter
1tsp ppo* Sodium Lactate
*Per Pound of Oil
I soap at room temperature - which means the oils and the lye solution are in the 65-75 degree range.

Sorry to hear about your Dobie. I feel your pain since I've myself had to have my Pit put down years ago & it still hurts my heart. *For those curious* no she wasn't put down because she was viscous or anything. She was a love bug & a delight but she had a brain tumor that wasn't operable & had some serious seizures she couldn't come out of in the last hours of her life.

My condolences for Riggs' passing. It is painful when you lose a loved furry family member. Hope you take it easy for a couple of days. That coffee soap looks like a luxurious treat for my skin! I love the smell of coffee and what it does for the skin. Coffee soaps are one of my few guilty pleasures!

Yes for sure! We have to nurture our hearts as well. 💓 My grandpa would roll in his grave if he knew how I was treating these cows. Haha! He would appreciate that they are being well loved and well cared for but ranchers usually prefer to keep them a bit wilder. One summer as a kid, he had a bottle calf and he assigned my cousin and I the duties of feeding this calf. Well, it was right after City Slickers the movie came out and so we named him Norman. Soon, I had him following me around and sucking on my hand the whole time. I got relieved of my calf duties. Haha!

The coffee soap smells so good too. I do like this 'more' natural version of coffee soap. It's much more authentically scented and it's soft, smooth, and comforting...like my morning coffee. Haha! I may try it without the little bit of fragrance or try to find a natural substitute for that. I am so glad it's morning and I can have my coffee soon. 😂

Oh nooo, sorry for your loss. My love for Dobermans actually came from when you posted a pic or video of your 2 dogs on both side of you. They were just looking out onto the front yard. I can't remember what it was but I've always told my partner that my love for doberman dogs came from this soap making lady on youtube.

Thank you. Dobermans are really spectacular creatures. We have a new Doberman now. We've had him since January and we took him in at 7 mo. It's hard to admit sometimes but he's even more amazing than Riggs was. We didn't think it was possible. He has certainly mended our hearts.

So soothing, yes! I love the creamy and comforting soaps. I'm sorry to hear about Riggs, I remember some of the issues he was having over the winter (I've been out for a while, myself). Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Our fur buddies are a blessing while they're with us. We have a great Dane/pit mix that's showing his age, so we're getting him a puppy to both increase his happiness during his decline, and make it easier for us when he goes.

Hi Holly, I just put these sort of milk soaps, especially with any additional honey into my soap fridge overnight. They even still seem to gel, but don't overheat , or crack or anything. I thought both of your soaps looks dreamy :)

That is a good way to do it if the molds are small enough. I don't have a fridge that will hold the length of these molds and especially not the size I normally work with. I'm persnickity about my food life and my soap life colliding. Haha! Thankfully, I didn't have any trouble with these overheating. YAY!

@@moriversoap I have a soap fridge in the soap room. My x18 bar mold fits lengthwise across the fridge :) Yes thank fully they didn't overheat.

Those look so good. I just had to laugh when you pulled out the lemon poppy seed loaf. It looked like a massive log of seasoned butter. I want to try making soap but the measurements and the lie are intimidating.

Thank you! I can see how it would look like butter. So funny! Let me tell you, I read a book about making soap (my soapmaking precedes the current internet experience) and got to the lye portion and freaked out! I put the book down and took it back to the library. But I just wanted to try it and it's not that bad. Just do lots of research, be fully prepared - especially for safety when the time comes, and respect the lye. Don't fear it but do respect it.
