This video is not a tutorial. The recipe used is proprietary to my business, but you can find many amazing recipes shared by Bramble Berry, Lovin' Soap, and the Nerdy Farmwife. Please check out my tallow soap videos and sea salt videos for free recipes. I am going to work on a standard cold process soap tutorial for you in the future. Thanks so much!

I chuckled when you added a note on the screen to say you found the level on the shelf under the table where you were working. Why, oh why, do we all need to go through the embarrassment of telling people that we found something hiding under our very nose and in plain sight. Happens to me now and then as well. I'm used to hearing, "Dad, it's right there in front of you." 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you! I get some stupid comments now and again from other makers that don't think I need one. But it turns out I love my lungs and my space is closed in so I need all the help I can get. ❤️ I just think I look like a goober with it on so it's a fun picture.

Holly, I just needed to thank you. I have had an extremely difficult 10 months because my 23 yr old son was in a car accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. In July 2023 they gave him a 3% chance to live. I am happy to report, he is now home from the hospital and doing better than anyone expected possible. Anyway back to my thank you. I spent 8 long months in the hospital with him. I literally didn’t come back to my home until he did. I was by myself for the majority of it and I used your videos in my ear phones when I needed a familiar voice and a little bit of a hug. I wasn’t paying attention really. They were past videos I had watched before, but I was very thankful to have a friendly voice distracting me here and there. I just wanted you to know that I appreciated you being there for me and while these videos weren’t meant to hold my hand in the scariest days, they were a great blessing to me. Thank you for always being kind and sharing with us. ❤❤

I luv watching u do this. Have u ever made a rainbow soap with pastels or a gothic rainbow soap? I don’t know if u know because most soap makers don’t know, but I’m in heart failure and I’m on oxygen ( that’s not the part I want u to know, lol) anyway I can’t inhale fumes at all. I’m teaching my daughter to take over the soap making because I’m not going to be able to do it at all at some point. I haven’t been able to make soap in 4 months. However, if u use ice cubes u have 0 fumes. My husband used to have to make the lye solution for me and I started researching if there was a way to make lye without fumes and I found this information and I tried it. I freeze my distilled water and each cube is about an ounce so I make a lot of ice and I split up what I need. I kind of weigh as I’m putting it in the bags so if I make enough ice for like 15 bags, I know I need about 16 to 17 ice cubes so I’ll put 17 in because I may I do a very big water reduction so that extra ounce it’s not a big deal, I do 17 cubes for each bag and then I weigh it. I don’t care if it’s over a pound but it can’t be under a pound. I do like a 48% discount so I like to be just above the 50-50 lies solution because I had a lot of purées and stuff like that, but the amazing thing is I get the flakes from Brambleberry I don’t like the bees because I had a problem with static one time somebody could’ve got hurt specially me if I inhale that my God ever since then I use the flakes they are too heavy to become airborne. so I like those now the only kind of lie will use, but if you do that you free, your you don’t have to wear that I promise there is no smell whatsoever. I just put a little bit on top of the ice makes it a little more mix it just put it in water so it’s just a nice way to get it done without inhaling any fumes or having to worry about that.

Thanks! Yes, I've made many a pastel rainbow soap and also black and rainbow soaps. I have done the ice thing before. I just can't make and store the amount of ice that I would be using for my soapmaking. I still want to protect my lungs so I would use the respirator even still.

Have you looked at some soap suppliers north of you? Calgary has many great ones, Windy Point, Soap & More, & Yellowbee. Shipping may be more but with the exchange rate, may be worth it. Or go for a road trip: Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise & Jasper :) The Icefields Parkway is one of the most truly out of this world jaw dropping beautiful drives. Take a look at some youtube vids of it :)

I haven't looked because I did figure it would be too expensive. But I might as well check it out. I would LOVE to go up to Banff and the other places to explore. We're only about an hour from the border.

@@moriversoap You absolutely should!! The Stampede in July is a fun time to go to Calgary. lots of people though, they come from all over the world for it. There is a Lilac Festival in June too. Add Kananaskis to your list too...its right before Banff :)

Where do you purchase your supplys?
@moriversoap
@moriversoap 3 ай бұрын
I wish I had a short list but I don't. It seems I change every time I need a refresh on oils and such. I don't switch too much on micas as I usually just shop at Nurture Soap Supplies. For base supplies, check out Bramble Berry, Wholesale Supplies Plus, Blossom Bulk, Natural Bulk Supplies, Jedwards International, and Soapers Choice. Other places I shop are Nature's Garden, Candle Science, and The Flaming Candle. Those are the ones I can remember anyway.

Don't know why you go to all that work with the freezer paper, just get silicone molds. So much easier and saves alot of time.
@moriversoap
@moriversoap 3 ай бұрын
I respectfully disagree. I don't like silicone liners. When working with such large batches, they don't unmold well, especially at the corners. In the end, it's more frustrating than it's worth. Plus, I can't just unmold and fill the mold again if the soap isn't ready to be removed from the liner quite yet. Sure, I could buy a bunch but that's not an expense that's worth it to me either. I appreciate that silicone molds work well for other people, especially the makers that are gifted them. 😊
