Making 'Bite Me Type' Cold Process Soap | MO River Soap

Hello everyone! I'm Holly and in this video I'm making a fun soap called Bite Me Type. This soap is scented in a fragrance blend of fizzy cherry pop, sparkling citrus, muddled berries, and creamy vanilla. (This is not the recipe used in the video but is one that I love. Our regular line of soaps do not contain palm oil. If you you want a palm free recipe, play around with adding more butters and/or olive oil.)
30% Lye Concentration
6% Super Fat
40% Olive Oil
20% Coconut Oil
10% Palm Oil (I look for Palm that is certified by Palm Done Right)
10% Rice Bran Oil
10% Castor Oil
10% Cocoa Butter
1tsp ppo* Sodium Lactate
*Per Pound of Oil
I soap at room temperature - which means the oils and the lye solution are in the 65-75 degree range.

Here on the Gulf Coast, Mardi Gras is a big deal each year. Don't know if you do Mardi Gras in MO., but you could exchange the orange for a golden yellow, and this one would make a beautiful Mardi Gras soap. The swirls are great on this one.

That looks like butcher's paper which is the same as freezer paper only a different colour.

@@lianne2830 I use a ruler and cut and fold it exactly for the mold. Having a crisp fold helps it to sit in the mold better. I still get wrinkles and weirdness occasionally though.

Holly, do you have any experience with purple micas going green in certain FO’s? Every single time I use purple mica (brambleberry, mad micas etc), it goes a weird green and it’s really gross. I’m so frustrated! I want purple lol

Purple is the complementary color to yellow. Is it possible that you're having this issue with fragrance oils that make the soap quite yellow?

I don't really seem to have that problem. I will get some grey occasionally if I don't use enough. Are your base oils darker? Also, agreeing with Ramo, perhaps the fragrance oils are quite yellow?

Esmaaaa~~~~ her name is Esmaa~ (though... I think it's meant to be spelled "Ezma" however I'm not 100%?) However, (and I'm sure you probably haven't seen them) it reminded me of Mal and Maleficent in the first Descendants movie. If you've got smol beans (or if you like DCOMS) the Descendants movies are super fun (granted you haven't seen them yet) if you have Disney+ you can find all three of them there and like I won't feel so weird for liking them xD yay!!!!
