Where do you get your fish from? Having trouble finding fish these days!
@BecauseYourFish4 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a fish store near me so I’ve almost always purchased fish online. I found Dans Fish and GetGills.com and that is where I recommend buying fish. My brother is also a breeder and we like to split things up and breed them, 2 heads LOL. Thanks for watching!

Good info. Currently have a couple sparkling gouramis in my qt tank that I'm about to move to their new home. Was wondering and hoping one's a male and the other's a female. Now I know what to look for to tell them apart. Thanks!

Thank you for showing this! I just recently got some and have been hearing them croaking so wasn't sure if I was successful in getting a male and female

Hey, At what age do they start to breed?
@BecauseYourFish3 жыл бұрын
In my experience, they start breeding around 1 year old. Thanks!

My blue Gourami has been guarding a bubble nest for the last week. I just scooped up the nest with a Tupperware. I have about 50 tiny fry darting around and I don't have brine shrimp. Can they survive on ground up flake food.? 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟👍😮🤪

I’ve not raised blue Gourami fry. I know that baby brine are too big for sparkling Gourami hatchlings. Microworms and vinegar eels are also too big at first. I would consider looking for microworms or vinegar eels as I would imagine the fry are bigger. Vinegar eels are probably your best bet because they are also air breathers and will spend more time at the surface of the water along with the fish fry. If blue Gourami fry are like sparkling Gourami fry then you might need to start smaller with infusoria. Thanks for watching and good luck!

Thanks for this! I have 2 large female and 2 smaller males. Is this a good tank combination? The larger female is quite aggressive and I’ve had to segregate her (keeps escaping)! Love these characterful fish!

Thank you, they’re great fish. One of my favorites. I like to keep them in large communities of small fish. Thanks again!

Do both sexes croak? Do they hide majority of the time? You and your loved ones stay safe in these troubling times, we're going back into lockdown ☹️
@BecauseYourFish4 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin, I find that these fish are pretty outgoing until a dominant male is guarding a bubble nest. The dominant male will then bully everything into hiding so I separate them before that happens because it can be very brutal. I believe both sexes croak. The most croaking I’ve seen or heard is between males over territory. Thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words. Best wishes to you and yours!
