It was already going bad from the beginning. The pianist could not dress well (In the final scene he puts on his blazer)The camera went out of frame at 1:20 and the actors were almost too close to the Steadicam operator around the corner. All this long before Marion Cotillard failed with the lyrics.

Unfortunately, it’s not going to happen as So May We Start didn’t get nominated for Best Original Song for the Oscars as the nominations were yesterday. It’s such a shame because this song is so good as with the remainder of this movie!!

@@nikolassodiant2595 I actually did keep in track with the Cesar Awards and I was so happy that Annette won Best Original Score!! That was probably the one that Annette I think was guaranteed to win though lol!! 😂 But they definitely deserve it as I’ve been listening to the soundtrack on constant repeat (especially when it comes to the Unlimited Edition)!! Also, Annette deserved the other wins it got for Best Visual Effects, Best Sound, Best Editing and even Best Director. Though I would’ve loved to see Adam Driver winning Best Actor and to see Annette win Best Film!! I’m definitely going to have to check out that performance then on KZbin!! The Oscars missed out on a big opportunity in my opinion to start with So May We Start!!

@@ladyerin9710 Yep, i couldn' t agree more...Shame that the Oscars didn' t consider Annette, Adam , Sparks or even Leos ! I was gobsmacked to see the Golden Globes giving a nod to Marion Cotillard at the Globes ! We often hear that Marion' s performance was less spectacular than Adam' s, but the ghostly part of her character is to me the most interesting bit of her role , when we get to see the real essence of her character.Thank you for your message ! I hope we'll get to see more movie outtakes on the future DVD/BluRay! It's great fun to watch and see 😀 And here you can see the difference between the professional singer Russell and non-professional singers very clearly. If Russell forgets or confuses a piece of the lyrics, he improvises a bit and goes on with the song like nothing happened. But when Marion missed her entry, she couldn't go on, 'cause she was too confused. 😄

Been going down the Sparks rabbit hole ever since watching their doc on Christmas. I realized that I've actually been a fan of theirs for decades, just never knew those cool random songs I heard over the years were the same band! So now I'm delving deep into their oeuvre and feel like I've hit the motherlode. It's astonishing how many utterly unique and wildly creative songs they've produced. While I'm not religious, I feel like their music is a godsend, a wonderful treasure that has come just when I needed it most to help me get through these dark times. OK, that was a lot, gush gush!

I was impressed with Russell's professionalism. In the outtake he did not miss a line and made no mistakes. He brother couldn't get his coat on and threw his coat aside. Marion forgot her entry and fell apart which is the opposite of Russell as he was perfection personified.

Born and raised in Southern California with parents that loved new wave and avant-garde pop music,especially local bands. I’m familiar with everyone from the Misunderstood to The Skeletones,and I’ve never seen a record or heard a mention of this particular group. It’s actually neat to come across a “new” band from SoCal,just trippy that this is the first I’ve heard of them. No record covers,no posters,stickers,bumper stickers,t shirts,anything. Like Hipsters would of been all over this band a decade ago and still,these last few months is the first time I’ve encountered them.
