Hi Sean, Great light bulb moment for me. Keeping the rhythm centered and letting the swing release occur early prior to finish. Watched you years ago and I'm still keeping my arms in. Haven't chicken winged since. I'm right down the middle, or same with a baby draw. Thank you!

@@Easiestswing Today I was struggling a bit because I was pressing. Was playing with a couple of good players who were crushing it. I finally realized why I wasn't flushing it... tension. Once I relaxed, applied the 6 principles and didn't worry about the result, it was amazing. Only +2 after I relaxed... should've been better than that but our course aerated the greens 2 weeks ago and putting was impossible. I constantly go back to that 5 minute video of Brian hitting a few shots with 3 different clubs. It helps me get my rhythm and tempo back.

I've just got back from the range after watching your lesson. Majority of my shots were 80% improved. The other 20% were exactly what you said, driving from the outside, I could feel it too and knew how to correct it. I referred back to the 6 basics along with the dance even though I knew people at the range saw me dancing but I didn't care. The proof was in the crisp effortless shots I was making. I'm 48 with lower back injury, upper back pinched nerve, knee cruciate ligament damage, dislocated right shoulder when younger and left elbow issues. I'm absolutely into your guys system of golf. Already purchased the book and waiting for the next one to come out and I'll be ordering the swing caddie next week. Thanks so much guys for what yous are doing.

Interesting video. In stopping and starting the video, you appear to do what I've seen some older golfers do. Bent and low lead arm, little shoulder turn, hands hands relatively close to your body....semingly breaking a lot of lot driving rules. However, I have noticed the swing arc, although smaller than someone with a more classic driver swing, generates a lot of whip on the club leading to distances that frequently outdrive my drives....and they're 5-10 years older than me!! Thanks for video...very interesting to watch.

I agree, I fought an “overswing” for many years but now wish I hadn’t! With 4 fused vertebrae and being 65 years old I can’t quite manage an overswing any more even if I wanted to! Sèan makes it look so easy but mainly because of his massive turn achieved because of brilliant footwork.

This makes so much sense. If you are. rotating too fast the amount of wrist strength required to over come the lag is too great to overcome and add speed.

Another great tip as always Sean. I also find that gripping the club less tight and swinging at a smooth speed where I can feel where the clubhead is in the swing helps me to get the hand release timing right.

This video makes sense, Séan. Just one question: so, do the hands and the wrists create the impetus for the golf, or does something else create the impetus for the hands and the wrists? A lot of golf pros out there teach quiet hands, whatever that means. Other golf pros teach the arms, wrists, and hands are passive agents to a proper body turn. Just want to be sure what creates the impetus. I am really trying to be sure I understand correctly. Thank you for your patience with me. Jeff

An excellent, sensible question. I look forward to Sean's reply. There are too many different & often conflicting advice for golfers. Often the teachers DO NOT TELL YOU WHAT STANDARD OF GOLFER THE TIP IS DESIGNED FOR. Many tips are only suitable for relatively young low handicap golfers. Senior golfers are NOT able to play like tour players.

@alangoudie2299 Thanks Alan. I had so many in-person lessons with different golf teachers, and often their swing methods conflicted. Séan and Phillip do a great job. I just need to understand better what creates impetus in layman's terms.

Like you I have had many golf lessons from different pros. Some were very helpful but unfortunately some pros were NOT able to help me, a 20 handicap golfer, when I was younger. They were keen to sell me new clubs & promoted techniques suited to under 30 years old low handicap golfers. I am a retired primary school teacher who specialised in physical education so I quickly realised their numerous faults. When I taught I made things as easy as possible for my pupils who enjoyed learning at their own pace. Brian & Phillip had a new approach which suits me. I am 80 years old , play off handicap 26 , due to losing distance as I get older.

What an interesting thread from you and Alan. The one thing we will avoid like the plague is “tip of the week” hopefully everyone will see that Easiest Swing is consistent in our message so it is really good that you have questioned this. Fundamentally we want to swing the club as freely as possible allowing the wrists to hinge in a relaxed manner and with the body following in time. Remember gravity will assist in the downswing so that all you need is the slightest additional impetus to achieve loads of power. Hopefully you can see this when watching any of the ES coaches but if you want more information read Ernest Jones, Bill Melhorn, Bobby Jones, Manuel del Torre. And more recent Brandel Chamblee and Fred Shoemaker. Another way to build your knowledge is to join the www.easiestswing.club where we have an ever increasing body of help with blog articles video training courses and live monthly zoom meetings.

Yes it is sensible to play about with ball position and see what works best. It may also just require 30 balls on the range to find the feel once again, most times it is just about being relaxed in the arms through the ball.
