Some engineering advice from someone with decades of professional experience designing exhaust systems for all kinds of commercial and industrial applications: using flexible duct like this is one of the most effective ways to reduce the effectiveness of your range hood. It's cheap and easy but comes at the cost.

At 10:10 did you install the duct fan facing the brick wall on purpose for cosmetics only? I would have assumed it blows out and away from the wall to keep the house cleaner but the fans seem to tilt towards the house?

the guy who installed the range hood at my house just left the cable dangling and we had to connect it into the side of the oven, this is far better!

Why didn’t you route the duct out the roof? That soffit will rot with all that moisture exhausting in that area.
@rinoadair16832 жыл бұрын
Every roof protrusion adds extra cost, time, and risk of leak. (That would be my reasoning as a homeowner/property investor)

old vid but i have questions, that holesaw it cut through soffit just fine? and outside grill facing towards the house, i always installed facing out thought that would be ideal for the airflow not blowing on to the wall? make sense cant see the the duct from the outside but the air flow might make the wall yellow over time??
@sparkydave3 жыл бұрын
Holesaw cut fine although these days its benched and I would no longer use it. The grub screws tend to slip out over time. Exterior grill position won't compromise airflow but I understand thoughts re residue. I personally haven't seen residue build up over time on exteriors, perhaps if the dwelling was left un maintained for a significant period it's defo possible.

Do a need a separate breaker for a range hood or does a normal outlet work?
@mikewiseman2739 Жыл бұрын
Normal 10A single powerpoint will do bro or a surface socket outlet wired to a 2.5mm T&E cable going back to another power point or 16A/20A power circuit in the ceiling. All done by a licensed electrical contractor of course.
